I like the dark visor if he can actually see out of it. If it keeps defenders from seeing his eyes it could give him an edge at the line of scrimmage.

I thought there was an NFL rule against dark visors for QBs. Something about it giving the QB an unfair advantage for that very same reason you mentioned..

Going to steal gifs from the other thread and post them here. Rivers is such an amazing pocket QB. Can Brady or Brees do the things that he has done with the OL that we gave him?

I am not aware if that is truth or not. I wonder why hes even wearing that if its illegal? Kyler Murray also has the dark visor but wore a clear visor in college. Is it possible they train with it because of the sun?

Unless the rule has changed since 2015?

Maybe he can wear it in practice but not during games?

medical documentation... "Hey doc, can your write something so I can wear a tinted eyeshield... I swear the sun is blinding me when I look at it."

Really, how can anyone dispute what you say you can or cannot see as far as sunlight goes, unless they note that your irises aren't moving due to a flashlight.

Im guessing thats the reason? Maybe it makes it harder for our defense during practice? Forcing them to make better QB reads without seeing Rivers eyes? Im grasping at straws at this point. The Chargers twitter page and most of their followers think this is a permanent thing.

Im glad you brought it up...because i had never even thought about it. Or knew the rule. I never cared. But you made me learn something today and i like that. So thanks.

I wish there was more clarity on this. The team is making it a big deal and i wonder of they even know the story behind it. Maybe he got it medically cleared? Glare sensitivity? Photophobia?

If its full time he would need a medical reason. I guess the thing that concerns me the most is TBI. Because brain injuries and concussions often come with light sensitivity issues.

As I read, Rivers said he was doing it just to have fun and do something a little different in the off season. I'm sure it was back to normal the next day.
