Stay safe, SuperCharger and Maverick! There's some nasty weather coming this weekend to Oklahoma and Texas. Supposed to be a lot of tornadoes. Geez.

Right now the bulls-eye (moderate risk) for Sunday is between Texarkana-Little Rock-Shreveport, with a larger area (slight risk) from St. Louis to Des Moines to eastern NE, KS, OK and TX. To put moderate and slight risk in perspective, you only get a couple of moderate risks every year, and it is almost unheard of 3-days out. Slight risks are pretty common, but they rarely occupy a quarter of the US. Only good thing is that with the exception of Eastern OK, the population density for that area is pretty low.
This event will probably continue into next week, just there is very little skill by the forecast models to get things close enough more then 3 days out (they only do probabilities that far out). Storm Prediction Center might be wrong about this, but I wouldn't bet on that (based on what I just looked at). The actual areas of severe weather will be more local and the moderate risk will be somewhat different on Sunday, but I think this one will verify pretty close.
