Andru Pulu
School: Eastern Washington
Position: DT
Positive: Two-year starter who began his college career at Washington. Posted 43 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in 13 games last season despite struggling with a foot injury. Junior totals included 36 tackles when he was suffering with a knee injury. Explosive, wide-bodied defensive lineman with a medical history. Bends his knees, plays with leverage and fires off the snap with a quick first step. Has a thick build, stout at the point and holds his ground despite being double teamed. Keeps his feet moving on contact. Resilient and stays with the action. Displays good overall body strength. Fluid changing direction and moves well on his feet. Goes hard after ballcarriers and wraps up when tackling.
Negative: Haphazard in his movement and must improve his playing balance. Possesses just short-area quickness and displays a limited burst.
Analysis: Pulu was a difference maker when healthy, and a gap occupier who made plays on the ball and also created opportunities for teammates. He's a legitimate backup at the next level but must display durability this summer to make a roster.
PULUUUUUUUU! I can hear the crowd scream aleady!Go Rivers!

Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe (pronounced chonga choo), DT Boise State. Interesting. IMO probably an UFA candidate. Watched him for several years with BSU. He can play NT and was a big part of Boise State's defense. Did a good job of clogging the middle at the college level with Mountain West competition. Not sure if he could hold up to NFL interior lineman.Last edited by Geezbolt; 05-02-2014, 11:11 AM.
