San Diego Chargers inside linebacker Jonas Mouton will miss the entire 2013 season with a torn ACL, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Mouton injured his knee on Thursday, the first day of Chargers training camp. Mouton, a second-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, spent his rookie season on injured reserve and could be doing the same this season.
Manti Te'o was expected to compete with Mouton for a starting spot at middle linebacker. Now, the path seems to be clear for Te'o to get more reps and ultimately be on the field as a starter for the Chargers in Week 1.
Earlier this offseason, the Chargers claimed D.J. Smith off waivers from the Green Bay Packers, which should help provide some depth and ease the loss of Mouton a bit.
Another injury prone high draft pick by us. Hope he recovers.

I wonder how long it's going to take for teams to start requiring players to use dual knee braces during TC.
