Riddell signed a new contract with the NFL back in 2014 or 2015 or so. That contract is up after this year. They are the official helmet of the NFL. So these are just their own spin on an alternate concept helmet. These are collectible helmets. They are not switching to these. Fans would lose it if they did. I think Riddell is just trying to max its sales in the last year of their NFL agreement.
