Virgil Green never has been nor never will be a good receiving TE. He and Culkin are just blockers. That's why they signed Kendricks, who at least had a catch today. Culkin dropped his one target today. Green wasn't even targeted.

        Whis's gameplans/play calling/adjustments have been piss poor.
Our offensive strength right now is the run game. It is what our Oline and personnel are set up to do. We are without a real option at WR3 and TE right now. We have been able to run the ball VERY effectively in every game. This makes our screen and PA actions much more effective. Makes our young OLINE much better.

We've only had 64 rushing attempts (335 yards - 5.2 YPC)) in 3 games while attempting 116 passes.

Its no wonder we arent winning.

Agree with you about Whiz. JJ deserves a lot more touches today.

An old Gates is better than any TE we got right now. He isnt much of a blocker but at least he is another recieving weapon.

To be fair to Culkin that ball was thrown way behind. Bad pass by Rivers IMO. But yes neither seems like they are receiving tight ends. Good blockers though indeed.

When you are losing thats usually the case but could be more balanced than it has been. We havent been behind much of the games but played catchup in all i think

Agree. Losing Hunter and TW is hurting us. And we need Melvin Gordon

It would have been a great catch, had he made it. But that is kind of my point, he is never going to make that catch.

Gordon isn't missed in the least. Williams would be a huge upgrade over TB but we couldn't afford him.

                        Key is....when are we losing?
We have had a leads in the second half in every game.

For fuck sake the Texans had 19 rushing attempts (39 yards - 2.1 YPC) to our 18 rushing attempts and they didn't have a lead until the late 3Q

We/Whis needs to fucking run the rock consistently throughout the game. If not, I might as well find a show where a monkey is fucking a football for about the same entertainment value as this ugly game.

Mike Williams is really slow. He's a gamer and makes some great catches but he rarely gets separation. It's akways a jump ball and those are so risky I doubt Rivers wants to keep trying those to him.

I used to think Williams can be used like Vincent Jackson but Jackson seems much faster on the field than Williams. I'm not sure if Williams has the faster 40 time but just watching him run routes, he appears slower than Jackson did.

The rest of the receivers besides KA is just trash. Chargers need to start lining up Ekeler as an actual receiver more with Jackson as RB.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

                          - 69-74 record
                          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
                          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
                          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
                          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
                          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
                          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games
