The entire Raiders gameplan is gonna be to run Jacobs down the Chargers necks. This is gonna be his opportunity to make a push on national TV for the ROY award.

Carr is gonna try and take advantage of Thomas Davis in coverage guarding Waller since Davis can’t defend any player in the league in coverage.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

    - 69-74 record
    - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
    - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
    - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
    - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
    - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
    - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

The things you do on a short week. Glad it paid off against the Packers:

For the Chargers, that shakeup started over the weekend. Coaches started watching tape on the Raiders before their team even kicked off against the Packers on Sunday afternoon. That was more by necessity than by choice.

“We hate to do that,” Lynn said. “Every staff does it. It’s just which staff can do it and not be distracted by doing that.”

The Chargers, it seems, were not distracted. They earned a season-altering home win over Green Bay on Sunday.

Some other tidbits about preparing for a TNF game:
On a typical Monday, the coaches and players would spend their time re-hashing the film from the previous day’s game. Coaches grade their players and offer pointers. They get a day off from the practice field.

But there’s no time for that in a short week.

Chargers players reported to the facility at 4 p.m. Monday. They immediately started watching film on the Raiders and introducing the game plan. Then they had a walkthrough on Monday night at around 6 p.m. to start implementing that game plan. The Chargers brought temporary lights to their practice field for a rare night session during the regular season.

Players were forced to grade their own performances from the Packers game, watching the film in their spare time.

“You have to be a pro,” said Jaylen Watkins, who is in line to start at strong safety Thursday with Roderic Teamer (groin) doubtful. “It’s such quick turnaround; we move straight on.”

The Chargers then returned to the facility Tuesday for a day of walkthroughs, jog-paced practices and film study.

The players usually are off on Tuesdays. They attend philanthropic events or spend time with loved ones.

“There’s no family time this week because you got a job to do,” Watkins said.

In a normal week, the Chargers’ players wouldn’t officially start looking ahead to their next opponent until Wednesday. In this short week, they had a walkthrough Wednesday morning before boarding a plane to San Francisco just before 3 p.m. The team expected to get to its hotel by 5 p.m.

It could have been worse. The Chargers lucked out with the scheduling. The flight to the Bay Area is just about an hour long, so the Chargers had the luxury of leaving Wednesday, allowing them to hold that additional walkthrough at their home facility. If they were playing a road gamer farther away, they would have been forced to leave Tuesday, cutting down on preparation time.

“You have to use the travel day as a game-planning day,” Watkins said.

Game-planning, though, is not the most important aspect of preparing for a Thursday night game, according to Watkins.

“Man, to be honest with you, it’s whichever team can recover faster,” Watkins said. “Because everybody is nicked up, and you want everybody to play fast, so we’re in the process of trying to get everybody back to that point where we were on Sunday, at the beginning of the Packers game. If we can go and get to that point, then we have a good shot of winning the ball game.”

Football is a violent sport. There’s a reason NFL teams only play once a week.

Fans usually don’t get to see firsthand the physical toll these games take on players. But when you walk into a postgame locker room, it becomes evident. Players limp around gingerly. They groan and rub areas of their bodies that are in pain. Some even struggle to get dressed, grimacing as they put their shirts on or reach for their shoes while sitting on their stools.

It’s difficult to imagine these same players being ready for another game in only four days. They have no choice, though. And the team that recovers more quickly over those four days will have the better chance of winning.

“Whoever can mentally prepare the best and take care of your bodies and recover,” Watkins said “Because I don’t think any team is practicing in a week where they play a Thursday game. It’s all mental preparation.”

            Funny stat:

Rivers has played more games in Oakland than almost all of the Raiders players.

Looks like the Chargers are going to get blown out just like the Packers blew them out on Sunday and Rodgers threw all over them. Chargers might as well not even show up and save themselves the embarrassment.

Yeah they actually would've been better off with that. Don't tell me you seriously think the fluke against the Packers means the Chargers are suddenly good now.

Shouldn't you be back on the Raider forum now? Rooting on your team? Seriously all you do is bitch and whine about the Chargers. Stay on your teams board you don't have to come to the Chargers board.
