Chiefs lose sacks leader Emmanuel Ogbah for season with torn pec

      Adam Teicher

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, the team's leader in sacks, will undergo season-ending surgery this week for a torn pectoral muscle he suffered Sunday during the Chiefs' 35-32 loss at Tennessee, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Ogbah has 5.5 sacks, which is one more than defensive tackle Chris Jones. He started four of the Chiefs' 10 games.

The Chiefs the past two weeks have played without starting defensive end Alex Okafor, who has a high ankle sprain. The other starter, Frank Clark, returned to the lineup against the Titans after missing time because of a pinched nerve in his neck.

The Chiefs acquired Ogbah this year in an offseason trade with the Cleveland Browns. He is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Wow that's a big loss. He definitely bolstered their defensive front. Crazy.

Any word on their 2 tackles? I know one went down hard yesterday. Needed to be carted off.

The other came back in but not sure it he had any lingering effects.

          Found this...

Chiefs OL Martinas Rankin, who came to KC in the Carlos Hyde trade with the #Texans, suffered a knee injury that is likely season-ending, source said. He’ll have an MRI today, but the belief is he suffered an injury to his patella.

and the 4 losses were WITH mahomes....... Reid won 2 games in a row against superior competition using a backup scrub QB......

Most people were so blown away by all of last year's risky bad decision but miraculously successful throws(because so many defenders dropped should have been interceptions) by mahomes that everyone forgets that Reid averages about 30 its per game no matter who he has at QB...even backups..... if mahomes is forced to stay in pocket, and make good decisions he is not as good or accurate as when he is scrambling.....

We need to keep him in the pocket and then hit him hard..... he's a skinny, athletic, fragile QB...... who can be ruffed up..... and no letting KC WR's sun free on deep fly routes........

And we have to play much better on offense than we did last week.....

Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

                    - 69-74 record
                    - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
                    - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
                    - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
                    - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
                    - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
                    - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

the Chargers was running all over them 1st half. If it wasn't for the bolt offense spotting them points, the game should have been well in hand. PR shouldn't have had to do much except game manage.

The weird thing is the Raiders have had good defense vs. the run, and been bad against the pass. But Thursdays night game was just the opposite. go figure.

When I heard the Chiefs had opened as FOUR point favorites, I kept waiting for the announcer to say "teen" afterwards.
