On paper, before all of the injuries to positions where we had little or no depth, we should have been a better more consistent team than last year.

but injuries to the OL made this year's OL worse than last years's inconsistent bunch, though we have run blocked better.....

Our defense has not been great at tackling in a very long time(since Seau and harrison were here)...... Tillery, Davis, and Addrerly were supposed to help with that, but then we lost James, our best tackler not named Bosa, and other players so our tackling has been worse than last year overall, ...... interesting how much better our tackling has become as Davis, learned our defense, and James and others finally got healthy...

Our Offense has had red zone issues/play calling issues ever since LT started getting injured.....This team at times is nearly unstoppable between the 20's..... though stupid/mysterious penalties have also caused many of our drives to stall,..... along with running poorly executed reverses or trick plays that lose massive yardage putting Rivers in more long yardage passing situations than needed with this porous OL..... Chargers also have a strange habit of getting a first and goal at the 9 or 10..... with a HC who thinks we should be able to run it in from there?..... good thing we now have a kicker who can make short kicks.....

Having a conservative coach who loves to run off the clock and use all 45 seconds on every play means fewer possessions for each team, lower closer scores, and tells the opposing defense to time their blitzes by watching the play clock...... fewer possessions means Chargers are forced to play almost perfectly to have any chance to win...... and defenses knowing that we are snapping the ball with 1 second left on play clock is a huge advantage for defenses..... they know when to blitz, and they make their changes with 5 seconds to go so Rivers is panicked trying to change the call and get ball snapped before zero..... forcing either stupid penalties or wasted time outs..... there are all correctable with BETTER coaching.......

I also find it interesting that knowing how bad a player TB was last year, that we did not acquire, or draft a few speedy WR's to compliment possession guys Allen and Williams.....

And knowing that we have 2 small but good scat back type RB's, we did not add any bigger/heftier power/bruiser type backs to compliment our quick little backs.....

And knowing Henry's injury issues, we never have added another good pass catching TE......

Last year we were bearting the bad teams for the most part..... This year, we have lost to multiple bad teams...... our wins against Colts and CHI were very lucky......

Yes, someone could say we were unlucky against TEN, PIT, OAK, DEN...etc, but its not really luck.... we played down to competition and stupidly did everything we could do to keep us from scoring enough points to put games away....... with one score games any little mistake becomes huge and loses the game...... only 2 wins we earned were against GB and MIA, though im not sure we would have beat MIA had fritz been playing..... look at how many backup QB's have beaten us this year???
PIT beat us with a 3rd stringer, and without Brown, or Bell......... PIT is a well coached team!!!
I wouldn’t say with Pit, that a 3rd stringer beat us. The defense absolutely destroyed our line. It was a 7 point loss and 14 of Steelers points came from the help of the defense. And when Hodges finally had to throw it he tossed an INT. He finished with 132 yds. He essentially handed off the ball the RB and defense took care of rest.

He had 123 yds and an INT. Christopher Reeves could’ve been lined up as QB and Steelers still win that. We got beat by an outstanding defense that collapsed our line play after play.
