Protect17. You traitor! Consider rejoining as a baghead. Besides, you only been here since this season began. You have no right to resign your position.

How dare you! You have to go thru years of postings and torment before you resign here!

Whoever said Charger fandom isn't for everyone is right. I guess Rivers is really my final investment in the team. Hate to see him go, but I do feel its time. I think the OP is right, in that it does feel like the Chargers have given up on their fans, more than once, so I feel your pain. The irony for me is that I'm an Auburn Tigers fan and the similarities between following Auburn and the Chargers are strikingly and eerily identical. Its dumbfounding.

SoFi will be a new beginning for Charger fans.

          Embrace the Oculus.

This will be a disaster at first...then ?
Maybe we do play modern football.

I certainly understand. I've had less & less interest since the move. Less & less game day excited. Less & less care if we Lost. Maybe it's because I'm pushing 50. Maybe it's because my kids are starting to leave the nest. I'm not 100% sure & I'm not saying that I'm 100% done, but I'm close.
I've been a fan for 40 years from the East coast. Named my 1st born Joiner. Have 4 lightning bolt tattoos. Had an article in a Charger game day program. But as a kid, I always wanted to go to San Diego. Nothing about me wants to go to LA.
That lightning bolt use to electrify me like the hammer of Thor. Now it's more like a 9 volt battery that you find in your junk drawer. I hope it can be recharged. But I'm not even sure if I care either way.

It's a down time.... just let it go... It's only entertainment anyway.. someday the Spanoses will sell the team, just be patient.

LOL. We feel ya on all this JOJAX.

It used to be that whining about officiating was weak sauce, a dead end and a waste of time.

I watch all the games similtaneously on 40 big screens at the sports bar/casino.

The league wide poor, even politicized, officiating is disgusting, to the point of taking away a lot of my NFL buzz.

I especially cannot stand Blandino or Pereira explaining this bullshit.

Compare what just happened SF vs SEA and what happened with Ekeler at the goalline LAC vs TEN.

The point I am trying to make for everyone is that we are beginning anew.
Anything can happen. See BAL and Flacco > Lamar eras.

And Phil, you were a great, great baller for us.
Maybe we do play modern football.

My passion went from avid to interested follower. I stopped going to games every week a long time ago when my 2nd kid was born so it wasn’t really a big change. I’ve been watching from a distance for going on 15 yrs. Very few of my friends are still bolt heads, my brother hates them with a passion (he was a ridiculous fan, hence the harder hit).

i keep following as a bolt fan simply to have a reason to follow any NFL at all. I’m late 50s, there’s no way i could ever pretend to like any other team at this point, no way i could fool myself to even fake that. Its either bolt fan or no NFL for me ... so i cling on with a loose grip. It would be nice to see if they could ever get any of the former fans back with a championship run ... thats not looking likely anytime soon. Lol.

If Protect wants to go ... then go. Who cares. Life is short fellas, follow your path. We’ll all be fine, P17 will be fine, it doesn’t matter. NFL is a game to amuse us, not much more. There are other games, other amusements.

This has become the highlight of many broadcasts. Its like a Price-is-Right contestant finding out he is going to play Plinko. The broadcast team has a hardcore ejaculation each time there is a questionable call and they get to dissect the play with one of those Rhodes Scholars. The real highlight, for me at least, is when the collective dipshits still get it wrong. You have 14 camera angles in super slow motion and these brilliant football minds still can't figure out whats going on...

For the 2020 season they'll Skype in Booger McFarland to discuss US History 1910-1946 during timeouts while the refs are trying to figure out wtf is going on and how so many black guys got past security to enter the stadium. The NFL is becoming more interactive and I am strapped in for the ride!

                          This.

Ive always been a rabid charger fan but this year was different. I’ve started to step back, spend more time with the family on Sunday. Deprioritize Charger football and catch up on it later and it’s done wonders for my stress levels and I’m overall just a happier human being.

It feels like it’s a combination of the Chargers leadership being inept and the NFL changing into a game I don’t enjoy anymore.

Oh oh well I’ll keep following the Chargers I just don’t think I’ll be the rabid fan I was before. I can’t stop being a charger fan after over 20 years of fandom, but I can take a step back and reprioritize them in my life.
