I just cannot understand how what Gruden did gets him fired, erased, humiliated. And what Watson (allegedly) did gets him benched and traded. Not defending either one. But Watson allegedly committed crimes. Sexually assaulted multiple women. Gruden said and wrote dumb hurtful things. Just is so disproportionate.

As far as I know the accusations against Watson are in civil, not criminal, court.
If there is no/not enough evidence to charge him criminally or he admits no wrong doing during civil cases, what basis would the league have?
Gruden’s own written statements are what sunk him. He can’t say “wasn’t me”.
