I was thinking also on how they will make all that work. QBs are worth a lot for sure, but they may have overpaid for RB Elliott. If your OL is good to great, like Dallas has been, RBs should be easier to find to fit your system, right?
Getting Zeke on the free market for a fair price would be a problem solved for us. Definite upgrade over Melvin Gordon. i've heard Jerrah might have to let some players go after signing DAK. A lot of teams around the league are going to be thanking Dak this season. LOL!

:wtf:
Zeke would be too costly at the RB position in my opinion. I would much rather overspend on the OL. Certain positions will be expensive over time like WR for Allen and DE for Bosa, which I am in agreement with, but please TT do not either draft a RB high or overspend on that position when other positions should be allocated more money.
I was certainly surprised by the high dollars for Dak though.
Telesco learned under Polian and has been working with John Boy Spanos
Certain GMs are better than others. Telesco is middle of the road at best . There is a reason Baltimore gets comp picks. They understand players for their system, they understand the draft and picking players, not overpaying their own players in free agent, they draft their replacements a year early and also the comp pick system.
Thats why I am watching this offseason how Telesco works. Maybe Staley will be the help he needs.
^ This...important to ANTICIPATE future openings instead of reacting to them...also important to let players go a year early rather than a year or two late...

Exactly - I have said Telesco held on the Mebane and Pouncey a year too long; I hope he doesn't do the same with all three of Hayward, Joseph and Harris. In my world view, he can keep 1 at most but I am using the cap space for better players - forget the sentiment s**t.
Also might allow some flexibility in the draft as right now, if Telesco keeps all three veterans, the draft has to be OT plus CB, DL, OL and Edge. But say you cut Hayward & Harris, bring back Davis but sign a CB to a multi-year deal (Griffin or Darby) - maybe CB is not the need early as you have two CBs in their prime
Also, don't be afraid to try to play the comp game. Sign a guy on a one year make good contract like the Rams did with Floyd if thats the best option. Maybe next year they leave but at least you get the comp pick. Or in free agency, you have two options, they both work, one guy was released, the other a free agent, sign the released guy if he will be just as good.
