It's not really hindsight, we all knew the Pipkins pick was a mistake when it happened.
keeping a player like pipkins only compounds the original mistake. You got proven guys like rick wagner watching football on their couch right now that could provide better depth for this team. Not every back up needs to be a developmental prospect."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. In the NFL everyone has hits and misses, everyone, but I’ve seen this happen before with awesome GMs (I like TT) where one strange move tarnishes their career and people end up forgetting all the good decisions they made. It’s really unfair but I think it’s part of the job. Making the situation worse is the fact that trey is still on the roster, had TT cut his losses this past summer after pipkins’ disastrous preseason, people would probably be well on there way towards forgetting the whole affair. keeping him on the roster not only undermines TTs credibility but it can’t sit well with the players themselves, all of them knowing that they’ve earned their place thru hard work and performance and here is this kid that clearly is not an NFL caliber player taking up a valuable roster spot, getting 3rd round pick money, and getting critical penalties on the select few plays he’s seen the field. It’s got to be demoralizing.

Only Allen, Bosa, Herbert and James are stars. The rest of them are very good starter quality players. Obviously some of them are very young so they may become stars in the future.Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:
