The new vets get the rotation snaps or we're paying them to back up the backups that we want to develop into starters. The UDFAs can handle that.
ps: Surely you aren't comparing Bandy to QJ or Tuszka to Tuli?
So are you saying that 2023 is simply a learning experience for the young guys? Sounds like a great way to win games . . . . . . .

Let the starters get the majority of snaps while we develop the depth in a rotation? Bingo!

But in case of injury, as we saw last year., wouldn't it be better if the back-ups were more than UDFA types that you get off the street

It would be the ideal situation that Telesco signs a couple veterans and they are inactive every week as the younger players stepped up and are producing.

            Make the kids beat out a veteran to earn their reps . . . . . . . . . that's the way to do it.

Thats the way I see it. And I understand that you cannot get the optimum depth at every position,. But at this point, Edge and S seem like they could use the veterans just in case the young guys do not step up. Last year it was WR but hopefully - thats more solid this year.

Pretty much. The D front isn't like OL, play the same 5 every snap all year. They're better with a break occasionally, change the scheme up.
Of course the best break is to take themselves off the field with a takeaway or forced punt. Getting a significant lead also provides a good time to work on developing the depth.

Rumph and Tuli are UDFAs off the street? or the guys behind them - which if that, then thats true.

I did read good things about one of our Edge UDFA, some jackoff hack "pundit" listed him as #2 UDFA likely to make the team

If they would take the ball away on the first down of every series, they'd always be fresh, they'd have maybe 8 plays a game. they just need to apply themselves.

Yep . . . . . . it would be great if the D would play about 30 plays / game . Have those guys bitching that they're not getting enough run

                        CAN we get a significant enough lead? Ever??? What a luxury . . . . . . . . . . might even happen in our lifetimes - anything is theoretically possible . . . . . . . .
