Staley on his new role with the 49ers:

“That is what I was looking for more than anything, an opportunity where you feel you’ll be aligned with the right people who do things the right way and you have a chance to improve, and where you also have a chance to affect a team that can compete for a championship. All those stars kind of aligned. It’s been energizing. That reset has allowed me to do that.”

After Brandon Staley was fired as the Chargers head coach late last season, he found himself on the list of candidates for a number of defensive coordinator jobs but did not land any of them.

that blathering of his was a trailer load of horseshit, wasn't it?

sounds like he doesn't really have a job that can be described. he's a "sounding board". Probably use him as their internal Costanza guide ...

I don't know if they still do the Heineken brewery tour in Amsterdam but if they do it's a must

I did the Guinness tour in Dublin once, long ago

In A-Dam, the favorite thing I did (other than just spending time with my travel companion) was the Van Gogh museum. that was cool - you could see in the full(er) body of work which periods he was absolutely brilliant and which periods he was completely stoned out of his gourd. an option to consider for a couple hours one day.

We walked around the red light district but it was during the day - interesting but i have a strong hunch it was the Single-A teams in the windows at that time of day. not too attractive, tbh.

                        Staley at his 49ers presser:

"The passage of time is about time passing. And we all know that with time, as it passes, time has passed. So let's do the things we always do and we say we do as we do them. Because with the passage of time, we will have done those things we did. There was a little girl, a commander out there, that really screwed up a decent defense in LA. It expressed itself on the field. That little girl was me"

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

....so he took any job he could find.
