Yea seriously. That article could have been discarded.

-Getting Ohrenberger up to speed and gelled with his line mates

I just don't think they are gonna wanna shuffle the deck that much this early. You could find yourself out of things pretty quickly if you don't watch it.
Supposedly the 2nd half of our schedule is toughest and we have another NFC opponent this week in a game we are supposed to lose. Trout had all TC and preseason games to get his shit together as the starter and still looks horrible. Watt may take his licks early, but it seems to me its better to bite the bullet now to get him up to speed for the stretch run instead of staying with Porky because it feels "safer" right now. We know what (WAT) we got with Porky now and it aint good enough, where Watt could surprise us starting the way Fluker did last year.

Beat me to it! But yes, this must be a lingering condition.

Ohrnberger is fine, but you can tell that Rivers was overcompensating, as game went along, making extra OL calls, even communicating with individual linemen himself. Also, Cardinals continuously blitzed up the middle successfully taking advantage of Rich potential inability to recognize it & adjust blocking assignments at the line.
Here's a (possibly very bad) idea: Can Clary play center? He's nasty and intelligent and understands the offense line calls better than anyone but Hardwick, and his lack of lateral quickness is perhaps less of an issue there. Ok, how bad of an idea is this?

I wouldn't expect Clary till November (at best).

              Nick on 1360 now!

Says he had a stinger v. 49ers before this, and other issues...knee too.

Yes, of course, I wasn't suggesting we'd have him right away. Heck, he may be done, too, for all we know.

But, assuming he's able to come back healthy, does the idea have any merit?

Alternatively, I might put Watt at C and Ohrnberger at RG. His forte is run blocking, and Troutman has been too inconsistent there.

I may have missed it, but he was not designated for return this year, was he? I thought that had to be done when he was placed on IR.

One of the few positives I took from the AZ game was that we had no major injuries. We lost a major player there. I don't know if Hardwick can't get mentally prepared to come back next year. He looked like he had to make an effort to come back this year.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Ah, thanks. I confused him with Geathers who was put on IR.

Yea he can start practicing after week 6 if they want. Then he has 3 weeks to practice before he has to be put on the 53 man roster. If I remember correctly, they can delay his practicing till week 9.
