I have been a Charger fan since Sid Gillman was the coach. I know the history. We choked some games away, but we never played so poorly so often with talented players than we did under Norv. On his way out, Norv talked about how little talent our team had and how far they were from the playoffs. It took zero years. We have a history, but Norv took things to a new level.

On his way out, Norv talked about how little talent our team had and how far they were from the playoffs. It took zero years. We have a history, but Norv took things to a new level.

I wasn't born yet during the Gillman days. It's true that Norv was lame, and went out even lamer. But our ability to tank games that we should have won or were winning goes back way before Norv.

During an 80s game, we made a zillion sacks on the other team and still managed to lose. The Raiders beat Air Coryell on Monday Night when we were up by 24 in the 4th quarter. Who can forget our post season tank jobs during Air Coryell and Marty Ball? During Brees's last year, we were good enough to whoop the undefeated Colts, but we shit ourselves multiple times against less talented teams. Plus, we must lead the world in most games lost on a blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown. And none of those were during the Norv era.
