    Minus 7 vs jets

Opened minus 7 and is trending to minus 7.5

What happened to the dude who had Robert dinero from casino as a friend picking all the winners?

This line tells me that vegas expects us to be healthier.

Any reason for the two nearly identical threads?

Jets have a strong dline...not sure this is the week our running game gets going..hopefully we can correct many of the mistakes between Rivers and whoever is playing center come Sunday...

I was gonna say the same thing about the problems at center and Phillip Rivers. Hopefully they work on that this week.

I'm kinda stoked a team as beat up and, in some cases, just plain bad said so what? and beat down the Jags. We had 2nd, 3rd string guys out there, a street-signing at C, a lot of our difference makers on the bench and look what we did. I think we'll have more than enough for the Jets.

As long as we have Rivers, we have more than enough for any team.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

At first glance, this game scares me. Unlike the Jags, it looks like the Jets are actually playing pretty well on both sides of the ball:

                Defense: Jets #4, Chargers #9
                Offense: Jets #11, Chargers #16

The Jets are also leading the league in sacks. But so were the Jags going into yesterday's game.

The injuries are concerning, but given that we rolled over the Seahawks, which is another strong running and defensive team, we will handle the Jets.

Jets are 20th in points scored and 17th in points allowed. Using yardage to rank teams is a waste of time IMO.

Only slightly worried due to us having played coast to coast for the 3rd consecutive week.

edit: oops, I thought the large spread was due to them being at home, but the game is in sd

Russell Wilson > Geno Smith - Phillip Rivers >>> Geno Smith
Marshawn Lynch > All Jets RB - we should be able to contain them running, I think we miss Mathews more than we want to admit
Seahawks WR > Jets WR - other than Decker who I think is decent was more so a product of Peyton Manning who scares you
Seahwks DB > Jets DB - meaning our WR and Rivers should have a good day

Chargers are injured for sure, but against a team coming from the east coast and a questionable young QB we should be able to get past them.

There stats look good in terms of yardage, but it is incredibly misleading. The Raiders got very, very few yards in their game. The offenses that they play against are not getting any yardage, but pass for a fair amount (averaging over 300 ypg for the last 3) and only have a short field to score on. Plus, once you have a lead on them, you don't need to play aggressive, it only gives the Jets DL a chance to get them back in the game. Just protect the ball, run the clock, and don't worry if you give Geno the ball back, he will probably turn the ball over anyway, either on downs, because he won't throw downfield, or if he does throw an int.

I think Decker is a good fit, and if they had a decent QB, he would help to give them some vertical push to support their strong running game. But he is not a guy who you are going to get 100 catches because he is the featured receiver on so many passes. He is a 40-60 catch guy, IF you have another guy to go with him, and the other starting WR is averaging less than 10 yards per catch.
