What if Pagano leaves for a HC position after this season? Are we looking at out next DC? I hope not.

Unless some defensive coach has to leave, they aren't going to disrupt the staff to bring Allen in, no matter how close he is to McCoy.

If they do anything, they could have him do some advanced scouting or something like that. But that is the kind of thing coaches do for friends who are out of work and need a paycheck. Allen is still going to be collecting a salary from Oakland, so it might suck for him, but no team needs to be that worried about him.

Discussion for 2015 IMO...

Agreed--McCoy does have a special affinity for Allen and said so after his firing. I could see Allen coming on board as a special assistant to McCoy or TT in 2015, but he is also likely to be up for a DC job somewhere after the next round of HC firings. But bringing Allen on board would be great regardless, just to stick it to the Raiders having to face their former HC on our sidelines twice a year from now on….

I think it's a strong possibility that Pags will not by crying over not being looked at for a HC position next season. If that's the case, Allen's buddy will bring him in at DC. I'm not sure if any of the current assistants will want to be a DC. He's still highly regarded in this last two stops at Denver and Houston, but I think he was promoted too early.

I think there are other candidates ahead of Pags on the coaching radar. How many interviews has he had for HC positions to date?

Why do you say that? I think there is a chance, moves like this seem to happen in the NFL, like mini-hoodie and Belicheat. I could see him in Denver in some capacity as well.
