The Bengals have a good OL, so it's easy to see if he had talent that they would want to stash him on their PS. It's good that he will have some chemistry with Watt

The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to sign interior offensive lineman Trevor Robinson to their practice squad, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan. While some may have scratched their collective heads when Robinson was released on Saturday, the end result is that Cincinnati didn't believe that he made an argument for the 53-man roster. Instead they kept T.J. Johnson, alongside starters Clint Boling, Kevin Zeitler, Russell Bodine and backup Mike Pollak.

According to Pro Football Focus' grading system, Robinson was mostly a push in the preseason -- a positive run blocker, but negative pass blocker. When Cincinnati was having significant issues at center in 2012 -- Kyle Cook was dealing with a high ankle sprain and Jeff Faine was just awful -- Robinson helped stabilize the position... if not enhanced it. His performances were noteworthy enough that when Cook returned late in the season, fans clamored for Robinson.

Interestingly enough, the Bengals have no centers from last year's squad. Former starting center Kyle Cook was released in March and recently announced his retirement. Cincinnati used their fourth-round pick to snag UNC center Russell Bodine, who was named as the team's starting center a few weeks ago by Paul Alexander.
From when he was cut this preseason. Seemingly not entirely terrible, which is really all you can ask for at this point.

What I read on him from a Bengals board is his strength is run blocking.

Robinson helped stabilize a center position that desperately needed help in 2012 with Kyle Cook injured and Jeff Faine struggling.

The Cincinnati Bengals have released (most likely waived), center Trevor Robinson, according to Pro Football Talk. Robinson signed as a college free agent on May 4, 2012 and spent most of the previous two seasons on the team's 53-man roster.

Cincinnati used their fourth-round pick to snag UNC center Russell Bodine, who was named as the team's starting center a few weeks ago by Paul Alexander.

Robinson departs having played 19 games with the Bengals, seven of which were starts.

                  From walterfootball.com (2012)...

                  Trevor Robinson, G, Notre Dame
                  Height: 6-5. Weight: 300.

                  Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
                  Projected Round (2012): 6-FA.
12/13/11: Robinson has been solid but has not achieved standout status for Notre Dame this season.

8/20/11: Robinson broke into the starting lineup at right guard in 2009. Last year, he started all 13 games at right guard. Robinson is a quality pass blocker who needs to add some power to be a run blocker in the NFL.

Sounds like Bengals fans much preferred Robinson to Cook.
