I usually DVR the game and then take the cat out for a really long walk. If we lose I'll watch the game so that I can break down all the mistakes. If we win I usually just erase it and read the board to see what happened.

This may be the best adjustment-to-the-impossible post I've seen here. Cuz its MGB, and cuz what's happened to this team - what's happening, before our eyes every week - is a complete mindfuck going back as far as Coryell. We don't do this, this thing we seem to be not only doing, but doing so well we could give lessens on it to the rest of the league. We're winning. We're not perfect, don't claim to be, just doing what Steve said a year ago: play our assignments, tackle, don't quit on the play. I think starting the season with the loss to Arizona might've been the best thing for this team, cuz that game was totally winnable, coaches should never let the players forget that game this year. Even with backups we have the horses to win games. Who are we gonna lose to, we keep this up? Nobody. There, I said it, we can go all the way, and why not? What's stopping us but ourselves, and who but TT/MM has shown us how we can not let that that happen? No running game? Oliver is a fucking beast. Pass rush? Next man up. We have plays in the playbook I don't think we've seen yet, MM is saving them to parse out over the season. This isn't football, it's chess, or Go or some effed up Zen shit like that. And it's working, the players have bought it, we - MGB ferchissakes - have bought it, the media is even feeling the vibe (Number 1 seed in the whole NFL??).

Look, it's October, early days yet. Right now I see our season hinging not on injuries or Ronnie Brown or whatever, but McCoy. He keeps these guys buying what he's selling, who's gonna say Boo and beat us? Sure, it'll happen, but right now it feels like the only way we lose is cuz we have a day where we don't believe it, not the rust like against 'Zona but a I had a bad flight last night and I'm forgetting what I should be doing, old bad habits. And right now, that seems highly unlikely. I'm gonna be very surprised when next we lose a game, very surprised.
