That was cool! I played frequently as a kid. My dad was a decent tournament player who seldom lost I went to club meetings with him and played guys who didn't have a partner. Usually aerospace engineers. no pretty blond girls though. I won occasionally but never against Dad. He had a library of chess books and studied all the grand masters of the past while i grew to develop other interests, such as pretty girls.

Her mother is a Grand Master and obviously she's been tutored forwards and Backwards. Really Smart, Really Pretty, and Lots of Fun and we have no defense. LOL! The big throws Herbert makes downfield .... the ones like the out to KLS ... how many game manager types can make those throws?

Harbaugh and Roman are trying to build a complete offense, defense and ST around Herbert to take the element of luck out of it. How many times did Herbert give the Chargers a lead in those one score games that all those pundits keep going on about? I haven't looked at the stats, but my recollection is that he kept us in those games. The fact that we lost a lot of them has as much to do with the lack of:

1). Quality receivers - to help in the last minute drives to go on to score late in the game.
2). Lack of a running game - I think a lot of the problems in the NFL today with teams allowing other teams to come back on them has to do with being unable to run down the clock. If you are relying on a tired D to hold a modern passing team from scoring when they only have to get into field goal range, you are kidding yourself if you think the QB can do that alone. 5-minute offenses don't just happen, you need to develop that part of the O too. It also comes in useful in other situations too.
3). Depth on D - Our D has sucked most of the time Herbert has been our QB.
4). Bad OL - Most inconsistent offenses are due to bad OL play. Herbert has done a good job of carrying the team despite the OL, but it just has created the illusion that we could get by with sub-par OL.
5). If we can build/improve the 4 things above, I think we can keep some of those close games from being close games in the first place.

Not that I care, but we lost on Saturday because of 2 incompletions in our last series that stopped the clock. And Refs gave a clock stop on one Ram play even though he was clearly stopped progress and pushed back while still in the field of play before "going out of bounds" but whatever.

IDGAF about shit talk about Herbert by media or here in TPB. Justin is The Golden God - I'd ride or die with that kid to the gates of hell. He is the most talented QB this team has ever had imo, it will be known by all before he is done.

Aikman is lower on the all-time QB list due to all the stuff you mentioned, but he was a great player. he had great accuracy and toughness - and he QB'd a dynasty.

the description you gave about HOF based on super bowls is more for Eli Manning - i don't think Eli should get in. i do think too much HOF weight is given to super bowls today, but Aikman went through great teams in the playoffs year after year.

to me, Plunkett did more for the Raiders to win two super bowls than Eli did. Plunkett should get in before Eli.

In a strange way, I think Aikman doesn't get the credit he deserves because of the offensive line and running game the Cowboys had. He would have put up huge numbers if the Cowboys had to throw it more. I can't fault the Cowboys for running as much as they did during their championship runs. You'd see Emmitt Smith not get touched until he hit the second level of the defense on the lead draw plays they ran.

Aikman on the 2007 or 2011 Giants would have been a much better team than what Eli offered.

good points. in my book, the top QB attributes are accuracy and reading defenses, everything else is gravy. Aikman had a strong arm and was very accurate.

He also would kill you by spreading the ball around to his WR's and TE. Just when a defense was sick of Michael Irvin, he would go to Alvin Harper and Jay Novacek.
