In just over 2 weeks time, I'm going under for what they refer to here as a Comprehensive Arthroscopic Management ( CAM) procedure.( Basically, an arthroscopic decompression).
I was initially going to have a complete reconstruction but after a second opinion, decided to go for the less invasive procedure ( plus, BOTH specialists I've seen have suggested that I'm too young for a replacement-53) They both reckon I will need the replacement at some point down the line but believe I have a better chance of it lasting if I push it down the road as far as I can.
Outside of the normal debridement stuff, I've also got a fracture in my clavicle which will hopefully be reset as well. Other than the hard matter, I have no damage to my rotator cuff, which should hasten my recovery.
I'm just wondering if anyone here has undergone anything similar? What the recovery was like? How long did it take?
Any war stories would be appreciated
