One thing I'd like to see done away with is the thanking portion of the show. That must take half the show up. What if they talk (when they win an award and go in front of the mic) about why people should see their particular movie instead? That would be so much more interesting.

Lady Gaga and Julie Andrews was the best part of the show. I'm a little surprised they didn't acknowledge the effort in making Boyhood over 12 years through editing or direction, but Birdman is definitely more re-watchable than Boyhood.

Yeah, I agree about Julie Andrews. A wonderful person. What a great voice she had. I wish she could still sing.
I wonder if there were any changes through those 12 years in making Boyhood. Talking about story-line primarily. Seems like there would have to be. As people mature they see things differently....even Directors. That's a great point, Bolt-O.
