After 11 years, i canceled DirecTV

Not because the service sucked, because i had no good internet option outside of Cox and they charged me a lot because i didnt have their TV service. Went up to $74 just for that and DTV has no good alternative in my area. So, .....if you cant beat em, join em. Im going back to Cox and saving $45 a month doing so with TV and Internet combined.

I never had Sunday Ticket and they never offered me a good deal to have it either which bugged me after having them for years. At least i can watch Padre games everday now, lol......they just suck so bad .....STILL.

I had Sunday Ticket from the first time they offered it up until about 4 years or so ago. I live in the IE 100 plus miles from the Q and 60 miles from LA and they still would black out home games on my boxes. F them.
I haven't looked back since I dumped the crap.
I tried one of those smart stream things briefly and it didn't work for shit. Took forever to lock onto some sketchy signal and them drop out a few mins later. What a cocktease. I gave the thing to my kid in Az and I dont know if they even found a use for it.
I'm either at the games or at a bar, or a buddy's place so I can watch with actual people. Mo better that way.

Everything is working good, got all the channels i wanted and its cheaper for me. They have new recievers(called Contour) and remotes and its a lot better and faster than it was when i had Cox in Iowa for a short time. The one downside from leaving DTV is i used to get some shows earlier than i do now. Used to come on at 7PM , now its 10PM.

Cox subscriber in Central Plains, and I feel your pain. Cox is a monopoly here.

Everything else is satellite, which during storms of warm or cold variety is epic suck.

People have told me "Get FIOS!" , well, when they come to Kansas I will, till then I'm f*cked.
