    Melvin Gordon

I'm about done with Melvin being a lead RB. It's time for a committee

Now we just need to find 2 RB that will make that actually work.

?? What has Melvin done wrong? Problem is the O-line and questionable play calling!

He isnt a North and South runner. He needs the ball in space. He is constantly dinged up.

What has he done that has impressed you? Now in his 3rd year

He hasn't been Ryan Mathews, he's been our leading rusher since coming into the league, he has improved each year, running behind this line every back you put in on our squad not name Gordon is going to have problems.

What has Oliver done to impress you? I would like to see more Ekeler.

Phew, for a moment there I was expecting another player going on IR...

So the guy goes for 79 yards on 17 touches at a rate of 4.6 yards per carry with one score and people aren't happy with that output?

Let's be honest, the main reason we lost on Sunday was not Melvin Gordon, it was on those three early Philip Rivers turnovers. If he didn't turn the ball over with stupid throws it is possible we might not have conceded those early scores and that makes it a different ball game. As far as I'm concerned his performance on Sunday was decent enough.

Now granted his week one and two performances were not great, and his career yards per carry is lower than most would like, but if he's going to go for a thousand yards and double digit rushing TDs then that is fair enough especially when you consider the O-Line he has to run behind. Put that guy in Dallas and he would be right up there with Ezekiel Elliot. Put Ezekiel Elliot here and his numbers would not be too far off Melvin Gordon's. What is hurting Gordon right now is he's often hitting a brick wall because his line isn't opening up good lanes, Rivers isn't the passer he once was and teams seem to prefer stacking the line, and at times the offensive play calls are obvious and somewhat lacking. So while he does need to improve if he wants a big pay day, I think it is fair to say he did a good job in his second season and played well against the Chiefs. If he builds on that and plays to at least that level, we'll have a pro bowl running back and no need for a committee.

Yes, he had 3 excellent carries in the first 5 minutes of the game. After that he was his typical self. And dinged up once again

What about being done with Rivers? Through 3 HCs, this Rivers-lead offense can do everything except score enough points to win close games. He's my favorite Charger QB but I'm about done with him, sucky Oline and all.

Not blaming him. He just got the wrong fit for the OL Tommy T has put together. To stubbornly continue to run up the middle with a RB that needs space is frustrating to watch.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
