His first run today was telling. Or maybe it was his second run. He slows up and turns his back to keep from getting hit hard. Rather than using his size to blow up defenders. That really told me he is in his head and playing soft. I wonder if the hits have just taken their toll on him.

Maybe he is hurt. On that first series if he lowered his shoulder and hit the defender he likely would have gotten a first down. Instead we wussed our and got stuffed. That was a repeating record all game long.

I think a couple of things, when I say that he doesn't have 'it'.
1. He seldom, if ever, makes something out of nothing... if there is nothing, that's what he is getting.
2. He is constantly getting "tripped up" when it looks like he has a big hole. Not sure if this is caused by his running style, or what, but it's frustrating.
3. His vision stinks, at best. There was a run against Jax in the 2nd quarter where he was to run to the right, giant cutback lane to the left... he just ran to the right, and got tackled for a 1 yard loss.
4. He NEVER makes 1 guy miss (unless it's a pass out of the backfield, sometimes he does then)... if he gets past the first level, and it's one on one, he's going down.
Think back to LT. Watch Zeke Eliot. Hell, watch Ekeler! Ekeler popped 2 runs for aboiut 10 yards yesterday that Gordon would have gone down for a loss or no gain.
I think he would be a good back in a Zeke Elliot/Dallas Cowboys type scheme... the Chargers don/t/can't run that scheme.
I'm not saying he's a bad player. I'm not saying he stinks. But he's never going to be what I wanted him to be. And that is disappointing."...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

Lynn seemed to blame the offensive line more than Gordon in his post game press conference, though I think he was being diplomatic about Gordon (for once). He did say that Ekeler was in late because he was hitting the holes a little faster. He also said they might look at moving the pocket a bit as there seems to be too too many balls getting batted down (the implication that there is too much pressure up the middle).

I cut Gordon some slack I think some of the play calling is so predictable, If we are cutting Rivers slack based on the plays being called Gordon definitely should be gauged the same way plus Gordon hasn't fumbled like in past years or throws interceptions.
