    Day 2 NFL Draft 2021 - Conclusion

Might as well get the pre game going. Big day for us with 3 picks. May move up. May move down. Great draft all through the 4th. Going to bed really happy tonight. Just a great result for us tonight. Slater is the new breed of LT. Smaller more compact. Twitchy in space. Wind him up and let him go. He will play like Lewan in Tenn imo. I think hes fine at LT. Gonna ball for us.

That’s a wrap … The opening round of the 2021 draft came to a close just a few minutes ago when the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Washington ER Joe Tyron with the 32nd and last pick of the night. Not surprisingly, national champion Alabama led the way in tonight’s opening round as 5 former Tide stars were selected including QB Mac Jones, RB Najee Harris, WRs DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle, CB Patrick Surtain and G/T Alex Leatherwood. That makes 5 years in a row that Alabama has had at least 3 players selected in the opening round. Its also the 13th year in a row that the Tide has had at least one player taken in the opening round. And with Alabama leading the way, the SEC once again dominated the opening round as 12 of the 32 players selected in the opening round were from the conference. The SEC was followed by the Big Ten with 7 players selected, while the ACC had 6 and the Pac-12 three. The Big XII, for the record was shutout.

Even with the opening round of the 2021 draft is in the books, but there won’t be much rest for NFL personnel people as teams still have to restack their boards and priorities prior to the start of the second round which gets underway at 7 PM ET Friday evening with Jacksonville back on the clock with the 33rd pick overall. Indeed, the Jaguars will be one of the busier teams again Friday night as they are one of 13 teams with 3 second day picks. The others include Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Tennessee, Washington and both the L.A. teams, the Chargers and the Rams. The busiest team on Friday, though, barring trades will be Minnesota which has 4 third round picks after acquiring two picks in the round in the deal with the New York Jets involving the 14th and 25th picks. As well, the Rams are one of three teams which will make their first appearance of the 2021 draft in the second round. For the record, the Rams first pick will be the 57th overall, while Seattle gets its draft underway one pick earlier at #56 and Houston has its initial selection at #67. Here is the updated selection order for the 2021 draft, as well as the current picks by team file.

And there are still a lot of really talented prospects on the board. And those remaining available players include QBs Davis Mills, Kyle Trask and Kellen Mond; RB Javonte Williams; WRs Elijah Moore, Dyami Brown, Terrace Marshall, Rondale Moore and Josh Palmer; TEs Pat Freiermuth and Hunter Long; OTs Tevin Jenkins, Dillon Radunz, Jalen Mayfield, Jackson Carman, Sam Cosmi, Spencer Brown and Liam Eichenberg; OGs Trey Smith and Wyatt Davis; Cs Landon Dickerson, Creed Humphrey and Quinn Meinerz; DE/ERs Azeez Ojulari, Carlos Basham, Joseph Ossai and Ronnie Perkins; DTs Christian Barmore, Levi Onwuzurike and Akim McNeil; LBs Jeremiah Owusu-Koramorah, Nick Bolton, Pete Werner and Dylan Moses; CBs Tyson Campbell, Asante Samuel, Aaron Robinson, Kelvin Joseph and Shaun Wade; and safeties Trevon Moehrig, Jevon Holland and Richie Grant. Here is the full, updated GBN Big Board ranking of the top remaining undrafted players for this evenings second and third rounds.

Some great players left. Onwuzurike should be on there.

I hope they consider Richie Grant. I think he might fit Staley's criteria for a DB. Just a hunch.

Day 2 ain’t beating Day 1. We scored today.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Honestly wouldnt mind a move on JOK. Just think him and James together are amazing chess pieces to have. Develop 3rd round CB. Adebo maybe.

Who would you trade up for? For me, Christian Barmore as a 5 tech. Tall, long, heavy, fast. All positives. We could have one heck of an OL and DL next year.
