2023 Mock Draft Thread

Not resigning Pipkins creates another hole that needs to be filled early in the draft. Yes, it could happen, but I hope not.

every draft day it seems like we have 4 holes to fill.

That was my thinking/. I’m now balancing out to we need to see what they do with the entire roster - there are a lot of FAs, we are over the cap, and Pipkins is one piece.

they can spend $10M / yr on him, or they can draft a RT early and spend $10M on a different piece. I like the known quantity of Pipkins personally but there are alternatives to re-signing him that can work.

I was at first strong “Speed WR”. Now i am thinking we need to draft a speed WR but it doesnt have to be Rd1 as unless that WR was a top 15 pick (or a top 15 drops to our slot), its more likely he is WR3 with limited game reps his first year. A limited rep speedster can be found later, perhaps, and Rd1 could be a bell cow power back, TE, OT, Edge … there’s a lot of options. We need to see roster moves shake out imo.

Mock of the day. Getting Paris Johnson is a dream come true, giving us a great OL and allowing us to trade a pricey Pipkins. A late 3 for 1 trade fills out the group nicely.

Why the Fawk is this guy not in our radar for pick #22? This Gibbs looks better than Breece Hall and if he doesn't have any huge red flags looks like a really good all around playmaker. He might be better than any receiver we can get at #22 and he can act as another receiving target. Crazy? No?

I really want offense, lots of offense so this scenario would be tough. All the skill guys I would want and are a top 21 value are gone: Bijan, Kincaid, Meyer, QJ, etc. I am not sure Addison, Hyatt and/or Flowers is a top 21 pick so I hate to say it, but I would go Joey Porter Jr. in this scenario. I'd be happy he fell this far and would consider myself lucky but it is not how I would have envisioned my draft going.
