Recent history says Herbert can't outduel Mahomes anyway, so might as well take a different approach/strategy.

Ground/pound, control the clock, limit Mahomes' possessions, have Herbert try to make a play or two when it matters but no hero ball.

Recent history says our passing game went to shit when one or both of Allen or MW were out. We don't have either one and currently one of
the weakest WR groups in the NFL, along with one of the worst Ds. You're not going to beat Mahomes with one of the worst Ds in the NFL, even
if we develop a strong run game.

Not expecting a trade down. Fully expect them to stay at five and underwhelm everyone.

Jeremiah, Brugler and Schraeger had us taking Mayer-TE in Rd 1.....he wasn't selected until Rd 2.

Kiper and McShay gave us Flowers. WR

And Wilson and Breer gave us Kincaid. TE

Zeirlein had the best pick with Joey Porter CB.

So whatever these same pundits have to say, they were all incorrect about the pick last year.

WOuld love to do it after we trade down a bit but I'm prepared/excited to do it at #5 too.

What does Popper say? He's got a much better feel for the Chargers than Jeramiah, who's been a disaster.

Watching Cowherd, word is Jets, Indy want Bowers. He just said Rams interested in trading up in top 10 and he suspects Bowers to get ahead of Jets.

No idea if we want him but may just have to take him at 5 or 6 if they do. Idk

That makes more sense at 5 if they are stuck. Or Odunze. Money Smith keeps saying Odunze.

Those players are blue chip, immediate impact starters day 1 at 5.

I see Latham but I see that after all these guy are all gone and the Chargers are picking 11. Then this Latham stuff makes sense.

Popper's track record this past offseason was pretty wrong about an awful lot of things and with a new regime in place, I'm not sure how connected he is. For what it's worth, if you read his final thoughts on the draft, he thinks we want to trade down but has no clue what we go with if we stay at 5.
