Sanders...Benson...Beebe are a few of my faves this year. Beebe could go in round 1.

MW for a 3rd...cap savings of 20 mil, ... dead money of 12.4 mil

OC Tyler Biabasz to 4 years/36 mil
CB Jaylon Johnson 4 Yrs/ 30 mil
Resigned Kenneth Murray to a decent contract. Not too much....and he hasent derserved too much as he hasnt produced til this year.
Extended Keenan 2 years and redid Keenans deal for a lower cap from 34 mil to 24 mil for 2024, is lower in 2025.

Most picked players in mock drafts per PFF.
PICK 8: LOS ANGELES CHARGERS- Most-picked player: Edge Jared Verse, Florida State (14.5%)
- Second choice: DI Leonard Taylor III, Miami (14.3%)
Chargers rookie Tuli Tuipulotu is playing well, but with Joey Bosa taking a step back in production and Khalil Mack getting up there in age, another edge player makes sense, especially the powerful Verse. The Florida State star is on track for a fourth straight season with an 80.0-plus pass-rushing grade.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.

Mock of the day. Our D is 31st in the league. It’s time for some new talent. And I can’t resist a 3 for 1 trade down.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic released his first big board for the 2024 NFL draft on Wednesday and right there at No. 1 was Maye. He beat out Williams as well as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brock Bowers among others.
Here is what Brugler had to say about Maye and the ranking:Cut from the same cloth as Justin Herbert, Maye (2,559 yards passing, 22 total TDs) continues to impress with his on-field command despite inconsistent help around him. A tall, well-put-together athlete, he has an explosive release with the touch to threaten every level of the field.
He still makes a few more reckless decisions than you’d want, but his timing has improved, and his aggressive decision-making is more of a strength than a weakness. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

No non-QB can ever compete with a franchise QB on my draft board if I don't already have a franchise QB. period, no discussion even allowed. QB is more important than the next 5 best players on the roster combined.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

Trey Daubert
Dillon Gabriel * better than Desmond Ridder, real backup potential, moves better than you think, has some baller in him, looks NFL good, accurate but so small
Cameron Ward * doesn’t suck, can move, good arm, take a flier on him later, might be underrated
Joe Milton * freakish arm strength, underrated runner, touch accuracy isn’t great, ball placement isn’t ideal, only going to be so good, plenty of mistakes, misses too many easy throws, trusts his arm too much, is accuracy good enough ?? high end is really special, he is the AR of this class, has rocket launcher arm, not always pretty, some bad misses, when on point, drives ball thru keyhole, some ugly mistakes, arm talent stands out, older and further along than AR, think he’s going first round
Riley Leonard * looks like (second coming of) Daniel Jones (fourth round talent says he), need more than QB draw from him, not gonna win games for you as dropback passer
Bo Nix * lot like Zach Wilson, prolly will never turn into a guy
Michael Penix * has weird (Hendon Hooker like) ability to be on the money w/deep balls, doesn’t trust inconsistent arm angles, won’t be able to sleep @night turning in card on Penix, can’t trust am getting a guy here, too many red flags to fully buy in, always hurt, throwing motion looks like trying to throw fade away jumpers, more pro frisbee player than QB
Max Johnson * not counting him out to be a backup in the League
Sam Hartman * doesn’t see it, worse than he thought, Derek Carr 2.0, on the older side, a pure dropback passer
Quinn Ewers * top five pick and ahead of Drake Maye, feet are way more calm
Drake Maye * very impressed, media too high on him, he’s a B/B+ in everything, no Trubisky flashbacks
TreVeyon Henderson * durability/injury concern, RB1, not as big, but faster than JK Dobbins
Miyan Williams * good back, fewer carries/not involved a coupla few games, Beanie Wells compare
Bucky Irving * Jonathan Taylor meets LaMichael James, has speed/power, a complete back, a real running back, combo small gadget guy & big power back, catches ball well, hard to tackle, can break tackles
Trey Benson * pass
(the Spazz) Daijun “Taz” Edwards * loves him, weird ability to be elusive while avoiding contact
Jonathan Brooks * better than Roschon Johnson
Will Shipley * poor man’s version of Christian McCaffrey, can’t run offense thru him, never going to be great inbetween the tackles runner, would worry ‘bout him doing it @NFL level, not in there to pass protect, better have plan for him or will fail, can be nice gadget player that goes in motion, does multiple things, not totally worthless, can run routes & play STs, not slow, need to get ball in his hands, can catch
Cameron Skattebo * all over the place, blocking, running, jack of all trades FB
Troy Franklin * likes height, weight, speed combo, not just a gadget guy, has speed, has Will Fuller impact, can stretch the field and win downfield, not as fast as Usain Bolt, and…. is lean/tall, ball skills stand out, looks like real receiver
Johnny Wilson *better than Drake London, impressive catch radius, moves well for his size, stiffer than Coleman, not eighth pick in the draft good, but starting to buy in, isn’t a JJ Arcega Whiteside, doesn’t have elite hands, going to have to live w/a few drops, doesn’t snatch ball and make it his
Keon Coleman * total horse, when he gets ball, you drool a little, “has to be a way to use him” ?? looks great, is good
Rome Odunze * real receiver, good size, quick feet, has “this ball is mine” quality/mentality, returned a kick for a score, really nice hands, looks like he belongs w/everything he does
Malik Nabers * really quick in & out of breaks, good mover, not sure he’s fast, gets open, just don’t think he’s a total alien, doesn’t drop his nuts on defenders enough to be considered horse, looks alright
Tory Horton * better than Michael Gallup, isn’t small
AD Mitchell * George Pickens lite ??
Cade Stover * tough & can catch, expected to be value pick/selection, creates YAC, good football player, can block/catch
Brock Bowers * a freak, a hammer once he has the ball, top five player, going to rake picking up YAC, really good, 40 time is going to be off the charts for TE, more of a receiver, can really run, insane athlete, play strength after contact
Mitchell Evans * better than Michael Mayer/Cole Kmet
Jaheim Bell * not really an inline guy, basically a receiver, can see talent, nothing special
Ja’Tavion Sanders * creates YAC, not sluggish
Brant Kuithe * is going to get drafted
Brevyn Spann Ford * zone eating TE, slow as dirt, he has a shot
Trey Knox * not a blocker, great mover for big bodied TE receiver option
Kingsley Suamataia * doesn’t scout Olinemen, and…. “noticed,” big & fast
JT Tuimoloau * top ten pick, better than Tuli, monster, better (value) than Fashanu (not top five/ten), will sleep just fine taking him high
Jared Verse * not top five/ten, Josh Sweat (fourth round) was better, speed edge rusher, not Nolan Smith
Dallas Turner * best pure pass rusher in the draft, quick off the edge
Laiatu Latu * no mention
Deontae Lawson * not as big as CJ Mosley, but faster, looks good in coverage and can get to sideline, looks damn good coming downhill, looks Alabama good
Alphonzo Tuputala * everywhere
Kalen King * doesn’t have natural length nor twitch, can tackle, Joey Porter is the better corner, second round pick that turns into capable starter
Dante Trader Jr. * really athletic, more of a safety, tackles well, highly regarded Lacrosse player
Nate Wiggins * not too many balls completed on him, stuck w/who he was covering
Kool Aid * CB1, ridiculous closing speed is different, returns kicks and plays special teams for a reason, total game changer
Daequan Hardy * gorgeous in coverageED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
TE Jelani Woods, LB Isaiah Simmons, TE Cade Otton, RB Kyren Williams, P Matt Araiza

1) ED Laiatu Latu, DE JT Tuimoloau, ED Jared Verse, ED Bralen Trice * adding the OSU DE to the mix here
2) OC Sedrick Van Pran, CB Kalen King * will prolly make the need pick over the guy that didn’t show against Marvin
3) LB Cedric Gray * really like this guy, albeit might want to be looking RB here
4) RB Daijun Edwards, RB Jonathan Brooks, RB Raheim Sanders * there’s something about this Taz/Spazz guy
5) QB Joe Milton III, WR Michael Sturdivant * my backup QB of choice
6) OG Donovan Jackson, CB Fentrell Cypress II * both of these guys have been rated (much) higher
7) LB Eric Gentry * really like “the Condor”
8) RB Ulysses Bentley IV, RB Miyan Williams, OC Eli Cox, WR Bru McCoy
edit: adding Jared Verse to the round one mix as well....Last edited by beachcomber; 11-01-2023, 05:24 PM.ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry

1) think this is between OLB/DE, RT or WR
2) think this could go IOL, RT or WR
3) think we're looking @TE, RB or LB
4) RB or WR ??
5) QB
6) ??
7) LB or WR ??
personally would still let Jamaree learn the OC and let him be our super sub on the Oline, sorta Hondo/John Havlicek style, and.... am retaining Mike D. in the secondary.
am also keeping Khalil for one more season, but would like to work in his replacement next season, sorta like what we are doing w/Tuli re: Joey.
would like to replace Pips, but don't see that as quite the priority as the OC and ED.
ditto for TE, as would prolly re sign Everett, and lick my wounds after passing on Kincaid and others last go 'round.
not against going back 2 back RBs in the third/fourth rounds.... ditto for adding two LBs to the mix.
not so excited 'bout this TE/WR class.... outside of Marvin 'n Bowers of course.
ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
