We got eight sacks against the Jets, who also gave up seven to the Dolphins, six to the Bills, five to the Eagles, and four each to the Broncos, Giants, Falcons, and Texans. We got seven sacks against the Raiders, who gave up six to the Lions and four each to the Steelers, Packers, and Vikings. Regardless, the point still stands: only ONE defensive lineman, Tuli, looks like he has a long-term future with this team from here on out. The rest are likely gone by 2025, at the latest.

Where did we get Keenan Allen and Vincent Jackson? Third round. Where did we get Malcom Floyd, Antonio Gates, and Austin Ekeler? Undrafted free agents. What is your point?

This is obviously your unprofessional opinion. You have no idea that Latu is not as good as Nick Bosa, or Brock Bowers will be an All-Pro talent. If you did, you'd be working in an NFL front office instead of commenting on a message forum.

Dude I worked in an NBA front office. You have no idea what I do. So just cause I’m in a message board. Doesn’t mean I don’t know my shit. I hosted my own nationally syndicated show on CBS Kids talk sports. I’m a regular caller on Movin the Chains with Jim Miller and Pat Kirin. Kevin in Culver City. Kevin in California. Nick Bosa jumped on the scene when Ohio State destroyed USC and Sam Darnold the Heisman trophy candidate. Didn’t play the whole season to prepare for the draft. He was the perennial projected number 1 pick all season. Until Mike Bidwill and the Cardinals decided they were going to draft Kyler Murray when they hired Kliff KINGsbury. So Nick was always a can’t miss. please don’t sit up here and put Lai Latu in the same class as Nick Bosa. He’s at the end of the top 10 Tyre Wilson type talent. Nick Bosas a game wrecker Lawrence Taylor type. There’s only a few of those. Micha Parsons. I could argue Tutu is better then him and we got him in the second round. So what’s your point. Bowers has unique skill set. Elite speed with Power. That’s not what you see every season come out in the draft. If you knew anything about talent and evaluating you would see that. I’m sure when Jamar Chase came out you probably said oh Another fast receiver. Jamar is unique. As good as Devonte is he doesn’t do what Jamar Chase does. That’s Devonte Smith. Lai Latu had one great season. So come on man. You’re capping. You mention these great charger draft picks. Where’s Marrrian. Was Seau a guy who just you could get anywhere in the draft. How about LT Ladanian Tomlinson? Was he just another running back? Where’d we draft him at 5? How about Tomlinsons record at TCU???? Yeah I saw it first hand against USC in 99.

A lot of players dominate at the college level. Vince Young had perhaps the greatest game ever by a college quarterback in an upset victory over USC in the 2005 National Championship Game. Melvin Gordon holds the record for most rushing yards in a single game at the college level, with 408. Kellen Winslow II dominated Ohio State's defense with 11 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in the 2002 National Championship Game. That doesn't mean they're going to be legends in the NFL.

Look, I get it. Brock Bowers is an intriguing prospect who could be great in the NFL. But would I pick him over a pass-rusher who could also be dominant in the NFL? No.

And you act like Joey Bosa is some bum. He was the number 3 pick for us. Won a nationally Championship at Ohio State. One of the catalyst of a great championship defense. He was good enough to get a huge contract from the Spanos. He’s a pro bowler.

Hes on the other side. Did you watch the Jets game? How he wrecked it. Forced fumbles. But dude see you act like Joey Bosa didn’t do that against the Raiders and kick Derick Carrs ass. Don’t be so quick to get rid of all pro pass rushers. Joey Bosa Is a run stopper to.

We all see what Bosa did against Jacksonville when Juwan Taylor kept holding him and nothing was called.

I’ve seen what this unit can do when they all play together. It’s one of the best in the league. Tutu has talked about how Joey Bosa has helped him.

and Khlalil likes this unit. At minimum we have another season together. We have Bosa Mack and Tutu we aren’t the Rams we don’t need edge rush. It’s not a area of need I repeat. We’re really good at it. How about the Bears game? Are you gonna make an excuse for that to???

Max Crosby where was he drafted???? We don’t have to reach and draft Lai Latu over a guy Brock Bowers a guy who every NFL scout has been drooling over saying how great he is going to be and how they wanted to draft him. Of course guys gotta play but this guy is a machine. It’s all on tape. Dont watch a highlight tape. Just watch a game.

See that’s the shit I hate.

shits obvious. Jamar Chase was generational we all saw it for LSU against Clemson in the national championship.

Fuck this who did Georgia lean on in that national championship game. At receiver? We have fucking Quentiin Johnston on our team. Who was the guy ass kicking whup ass TCU. All y’all say how physical Michigan and Harbaugh were. What did Georgia do to them? Beat the shit at outa them. Brock Bowers national champion back to back. We didn’t hold it against Chase.

Tomlinson was generational. Owansu is TYron Smith Tyron plays tackle for the Cowboys that’s why they are so good. Yeah we drafted one of those Rashawn Slater.

talk all that about Dallas but they still have a generational talent in Cede Lamb. Have you ever thought maybe Cede is why Furguson is always open over the middle. Quention Johnston would have a lot of success if Brock Bowers had to be paid attention to.

ZEUS brown was a second round pick guys said he was too fat. He’s been pretty good. How about Trent Brown. You don’t have to reach for a guy.

We will get our Center issue solved in the draft. Want to burn one in the 1st round?

And I’m a Charger fan. I had to deal with this shit. I got PTSD of Shannon Sharpe Tony Gonzalez Travis Kelce. Even Gronk Dallas Clark.

I want us to have our guy. Tired of this shit.

Joey's cap hit next year is over 30M and he plays half a season every year. Need to get something for him while we can and lose that contract.

The words I used were not with the intent to diss anyone other than Tom Telesco's inability to build a tougher, more physical team that can be more helpful to a quarterback like Justin Herbert--so he doesn't have his career wasted in a similar way Philip Rivers was. Herbert has had plenty of weapons to throw to in his career, and it has gotten him nowhere close to a Super Bowl victory. Protecting him better (which I think will happen if we hire a coaching staff that teaches our young linemen how to block better) and building a dominant defense should be the higher priority than adding another weapon to the receiving core.

Admittedly, I do not enjoy reading someone state a projected top 15 pick won't be something in the NFL just because he is all about one prospect and nobody else. So, I guess I'm dissing the idea of Herbert NEEDING Brock Bowers in order to succeed, which I cannot take seriously.

I don't mean this disrespectfully, but I really don't care that you worked in an NBA front office or hosted your own show. Although those are very nice accomplishments (and I mean that sincerely), that doesn't mean you know for sure that Latu is not going to make a similar impact to Nick Bosa. You mentioned Micah Parsons, who was picked 12th overall by the Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft. I'm sure there were people like you who said he was not nearly in the same class at his position as Jamaar Chase (taken fifth overall in that same draft) or Kyle Pitts (taken fourth overall in that same draft) were. Right now I believe Parsons is the best defensive player in the NFL. I'm sure there were people like you who were even more adamant about T.J. Watt not being a guy you take in the top ten, since he was selected 30th overall. He was the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year and has posted five seasons with 13 sacks or more.

You mentioned Latu had just one great season, which isn't true, as he had 10.5 sacks last year and 13 this seasons. Even if that were true, Jason Pierre-Paul played only one season of college football, and he had 6.5 sacks that year.

And you're probably the only person in the world who thinks Tuli is better than Micah Parsons. I do like Tuli a lot, and think he has a bright future. You ask what my point about him is. My point is he is the only young defensive lineman on this team who has a long-term future, which you are not acknowledging at all.

And Nick Bosa is not a Lawrence Taylor type. Nobody is.

Do you notice what my username is? No, I do not think that Joey Bosa is a bum. When he is on the field he is one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL. I'm one of the few on this board who wants to keep him beyond this season. The reality, however, is that he cannot be relied on to play a full season. He missed four games his rookie year, nine games in 2018, four games in 2020, 12 games last season, and has missed four games so far this season. He has missed 29 games to injury in his career, and he's not getting younger. He also has just two more years on his contract, and since he has missed 16 of a possible 30 games over the last two seasons (which will probably be 20 missed games out of possible 34 when this year is over), it's not unrealistic to think he won't be able to play the majority of next season or any of the years after.

Khalil Mack is having an outstanding season. Unfortunately he's about to be 33 and is heading into the last year of his contract.

So, I do not want to head into next season with the mentality that we'll be just fine with a 33-year-old on the last year of his contract, an injury-prone 29-year-old with only two years left on his contract, Tuli, and a non-factor like Chris Rumph. I also don't want to head into next season with a similar or worse defensive tackle rotation to what we have right now. I want more depth on the defensive line with younger, up-and-coming talent.

Maxx Crosby was drafted in the fourth round, one round earlier than George Kittle. You also mentioned Shannon Sharpe, who was drafted in the seventh round. You can find players at every position late in the draft who turn out to be much better than projected. Three of the greatest quarterbacks of all time were drafted in the ninth round (Johnny Unitas), third round (Joe Montana), and sixth round (Tom Brady). The reality is that pass-rushers are of much importance than tight ends. I don't think anyone can dispute that. Because of this, it is much more likely to get a good tight end later in the draft than it is a pass-rusher. You don't want to acknowledge that because you've committed to us selecting Brock Bowers if he's there and nobody else.

I have watched Brock Bowers play. You seem to think he's undoubtedly going to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Personally, I don't understand your belief that Herbert NEEDS him in order to succeed. Will I be upset if we draft him? No. I think he's a fine talent, and I will look forward to watching him play with Herbert. I would just prefer to see us have a similar approach to what the 49ers do with the way they prioritize stacking the defensive line and wait for overlooked talented pass-catchers like Deebo Samuel fall to the second round and beyond.

Ceedee Lamb is not a generational talent. Stating that Jake Ferguson is succeeding only because of Ceedee Lamb is one of several blatant stretches you're making to try to convince everyone that Brock Bowers is the one and only pick to make if he's sitting there when we select.

If you have protection problems along the OL, get guys that don't have problems protecting. Don't sign soft RT's to extensions.
No TE is going to cover these problems up. The 2 teams with more TD's than any other team (Dolphins/Cowboys) have 4th round TE's (Ferguson/Smythe). Having coaches that can design blocking schemes helps, too.

Pass blocking, run blocking, and pass coverage are the problems. Get a better OL coach and get a cover corner. Deanne Leonard, Ja'Sir Taylor, and Essang Bassey don't cut it. Brendan Nugent needs to go. Move Salyer out to RT.
