Getting a bit ahead of myself but...
    Re: player development/Jim Harbaugh

There's a lot of meat left on our "OL bone" ready to be coached up by the right guy. Everyone on the OL underperformed and I don't think it was a coincidence.
    Zion, talent unrealized
Pipkins... I see a lack of motivation-issue. If Jim can't light a fire under his arse, I doubt anyone will. But I'm not ready to give up on him at RT.
Salyer is kind of a mystery to me but am willing to bet Jim turns him into a starting LG afterall.
Slater easily turns back into an elite LT once the unit plays as a whole.
Starting center should really be a veteran for 2024.

So unless there is some insane value we can't pass up, I'm looking at using days 1 and 2 elsewhere.

Clapp is a vet C. You want a too vet = big contract. At some point we have to start training quality OL. I like Van Pran, Geo. He already knows RG Salyer. Early 2nd. Moore looked good working with a top vet HC in Dal.Not at all with Shitcan Staley
Quality vet HC is priority #1. Let him choose his staff. If he's worth a damn, he'll try to keep Ficken and will find a top OL coach.

Ebron had drop issues coming out. Continued in the NFL. Bowers does not.

The only interesting TE to me after round 2 is Cade Stover. He went to Ohio st as a LB, then moved to DE. Played LB in a Rose Bowl game because of injuries. Moved to TE later so as a TE is kinda raw and has showed well so if we pass on Bowers, id maybe target him....after Texas TE Sanders.

Im talking as a step in and start type TE. There are other i like but they likely wont start right away and will take time.
As raw as Stover is, I think he can be as good as Mark Andrews. I trust Bowers is going to be a really good player. But if you can get Stover and Jaheim Bell later in the draft, I’m all for that. Bell reminds me of Everett but can play multiple positions. If they are picking at 5-6 and Bowers is there, I say trade back, but not too far back and get more picks to fill out the roster.

You want another veteran blocking TE that can catch, go sign Harrison Bryant in free agency.

Then go grab Patrick Herbert as an UDFA to play ball with his big bro.

The Chargers are going to win 2 more games, finish 7-10 and draft at #13, too low for McKinstry or Brock Bowers or for QB-seeking team to trade up, but they will get Laiatu Latu, DL from UCLA.

              Don't know about that either.

Good thing we may only win 1 game. I'm thinking we lose out.
Raiders is the best chance to win one. I know Crosby is playing and they are deciding between O' Connel and Garapollo at QB.

There will be a franchise offensive left tackle on the board when it is the Chargers turn to draft in round one.

                We have Rashawn Slater.

                We cannot run the football.

Lions took Penei Sewell under these circumstances.

                Value dictates the selection.

TreVyon Henderson is the explosive running back available in round two.

It is early, but it is obvious.

Don't drool on me with your man crush scrub players please.
                We play modern Harball.

Cincy took a magnificent WR instead of Sewell. And their QB has now spent half his time on IR. Connected?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                  Let’s win one for Mack.

And none of them were drafted by the 49ers in the top ten. The highest pick they used was on Brandon Aiyuk, with the 25th overall selection. Nick Bosa (second overall), Javon Kinlaw (14th overall), and Arik Armstead (17th overall) were all taken with higher picks by the 49ers.

We got eight sacks against the Jets, who also gave up seven to the Dolphins, six to the Bills, five to the Eagles, and four each to the Broncos, Giants, Falcons, and Texans. We got seven sacks against the Raiders, who gave up six to the Lions and four each to the Steelers, Packers, and Vikings. Regardless, the point still stands: only ONE defensive lineman, Tuli, looks like he has a long-term future with this team from here on out. The rest are likely gone by 2025, at the latest.

This is obviously your unprofessional opinion. You have no idea that Latu is not as good as Nick Bosa, or Brock Bowers will be an All-Pro talent. If you did, you'd be working in an NFL front office instead of commenting on a message forum.

A lot of players dominate at the college level. Vince Young had perhaps the greatest game ever by a college quarterback in an upset victory over USC in the 2005 National Championship Game. Melvin Gordon holds the record for most rushing yards in a single game at the college level, with 408. Kellen Winslow II dominated Ohio State's defense with 11 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown in the 2002 National Championship Game. That doesn't mean they're going to be legends in the NFL.

Look, I get it. Brock Bowers is an intriguing prospect who could be great in the NFL. But would I pick him over a pass-rusher who could also be dominant in the NFL? No.

                      We must prioritize protecting Herbert.

Bowers would also add a super tough as nails physical attitude to our offense.......something that has been missing for ages.... and he would improve the running game...via blocking or running himself......

when you have protection problems, a great TE can be an easy quick outlet to keep the chains moving.....a great TE is the guy who makes it almost impossible to keep you out of the endzone..... in zedzone area.....
Gates and Winslow were nearly unstoppable....and Bowers is similar inreceiving ability but more physical....

If I had a dollar for every time someone claimed a prospect was "generational"... I'd have a lot of dollars.
If you want a physical, tough-as-nails offense... you should be looking at the OL... not at TE.
If you have protection problems along the OL, get guys that don't have problems protecting. Don't sign soft RT's to extensions.
No TE is going to cover these problems up. The 2 teams with more TD's than any other team (Dolphins/Cowboys) have 4th round TE's (Ferguson/Smythe). Having coaches that can design blocking schemes helps, too.

Pass blocking, run blocking, and pass coverage are the problems. Get a better OL coach and get a cover corner. Deanne Leonard, Ja'Sir Taylor, and Essang Bassey don't cut it. Brendan Nugent needs to go. Move Salyer out to RT.
