Herbert has had plenty of weapons to throw to in his career, and it has gotten him nowhere close to a Super Bowl victory. Protecting him better (which I think will happen if we hire a coaching staff that teaches our young linemen how to block better) and building a dominant defense should be the higher priority than adding another weapon to the receiving core.

Admittedly, I do not enjoy reading someone state a projected top 15 pick won't be something in the NFL just because he is all about one prospect and nobody else. So, I guess I'm dissing the idea of Herbert NEEDING Brock Bowers in order to succeed, which I cannot take seriously.
we have done the bolded above time after time and to our detriment.... that is Chargering in my book.

forget the flyweight receiver (Travis Benjamin) we took instead of a RT (Bobbie Massie) in FA that year, and taking MW instead of Ramczyk, and know there are other instances.... just tired of researching them out again.

and the aforementioned is just in theory, as if Marvin were there for the taking.... the hell w/Latu, and.... am not so much about position, as would prolly take Kincaid over Latu (and Bowers for that matter), as not locked into that DL >> TE per se, or same for any other position (battle) come draft time or for FA.

Latu is 23 and does come w/a pretty significant injury concern, and ditto for Kincaid last year w/his back, albeit not the major/career threatening injury that Latu had, and....

do agree that just like we had Tuli as a Bosa hedge this year, and were able to bring him along a little more gradually than having to replace Bosa from day one, do like the idea of Latu as a Khalil hedge, and for the if and when father time catch up to him, as would like to let Latu work himself into the lineup, rather than have to be the Mack daddy from day one.

and all that said, do think Bowers could be a heckuvah player, albeit's just that for myself, not overly enamored w/his intangibles, and not sure how much of an injury concern he might be, and just like Latu better as a Charger (and truth be told, still bitter we didn't nab Dalton).

well, like a broken record.... Dalton Kincaid woulda been nice, and.... recall that we made it to an SB w/the likes of Leslie O'Neal & Jr.

sure would be nice to have Tuli & Latu.... and a real NT !!

and Bowers could be good.... what would his stats have looked like if he didn't miss any games due to his injury ??

and more re: SO55.... last year peoples were (still) hanging on to the hopium that is Bosa 'n MW, and.... we all see how that (re)played out again, and.... now you want another year w/those two ??

and who is Owansu ?? Fashanu is not a lock according to some pundits ??

and was right w/yah on CeeDee Lamb, and.... dude was off the board when the Powder Blues got called to the podium.

and Max Crosby.... (hah.... know we all recall where Antonio got drafted).... how 'bout LT & Jr.... top five selections, and.... Merriman went 13.

and so yeah.... you can find a HOF TE in round 8, you can luck out w/an unbelievable NT in the supplemental draft, and.... rule of thumb is you gotta pay to play.

consensus is that the both of Bowers 'n Latu are going top ten.... let's see where we end up, and who's in front of us.... Bowers could be in NY by the time LA turns our card in.

          It really is that simple.
question is: is this the year the talent lines up for that ??

or do we have to make do w/Pips 'n Jamaree for another season before the right guy gets slotted to us, or our guy is sitting there in FA ??

not to mention, sure would be nice to have some RBs that can pass block, and.... an upgrade or coupla few to the coaching staff.

are you of the mind to get your OC in the draft or via FA ?? are you looking to invest your round one capital @RT in lieu of a Latu, Bowers or the like ??

how high do you go for your RB of choice ?? and do you double dip there ?? and do you need another wideout while you're @ it ?? !!

I am starting with the basics here, there are day one starters at offensive tackle.

Due to scarcity and the universal need to protect the high-value QB, trickle down juicy trades then come into play.

Upgrade at OL is naturally beneficial, even with consideration of our current population.

The other positions you mention certainly must be addressed, and I will keep looking.

I was looking just this morning at my late round, top secret IOL duo, that even beach is unaware of.
            We play modern Harball.

If you want offense and Bowers, Harrison and company are gone then the best bet would be an OT, if the goal is to protect Herbert. Otherwise a top rated CB
would be the best bang for the buck on defense.

well I can tell you that We will be drafting before the Giants. The Giants are winning with Devito. And they are trying to make the playoffs.

I don't think Bowers is more an injury concern than anyone else is. He had 1 injury in college. A common injury.

High ankle sprains are common, especially with the hip drop tackles. Not sure why that is a concern with Bowers.
Wouldn't you be more concerned with Latu getting injured than Bowers?

To clarify, had Bowers come out last year if he were eligible, I'd have wanted him over Kincaid.
Bowers is a better blocker and is pretty decent in that regard. I was high on both guys though but that's why I really want Bowers. Kincaid was my #1 pick last year.

not looking @positions, think this draft is set up for D.... if we go first three picks on D, won't be disappointed.

OC is a need pick (jftr thought Tuli was a need pick as well, as he was the only guy in the draft that eye saw that could spell Bosa), and might be a bit early to go RB round one or two, and RT, WR, TE aren't as clear cut talents as the guys on D, 'specially after the aforementioned top ten talents.
Easy...either of the top 2 tackles, Fashanu or Alt...

Absolutely cannot fail to help this QB out, with weapons, protection, or both...

But a lot of time and evaluations between now and draft day, to sort out rounds 2 thru 7...
