If they can are at 6 and can trade back to 11 or 12 and still get Newton, for me that would be ideal.

While I agree that they need to focus on the trenches. I don’t think OT is in the discussion this year. I do think OC is in the discussion at some point. But I also think they might go to free agency for that. Tyler Biadasz or Conner Williams could be good options for Herbert to continue to grow with.

I honestly think Slater, Zion and Salyer can be good to great. I think Pipkins can be just as good as last year, which is fine for a couple years until they need to draft a RT. All they need is better Oline coaches. And I have been screaming and pounding the table for Scott Peters as Oline coach and try to bring in Stacey Searels as the assistant Oline coach. Peters has been Bill Callahan’s assistant Oline coach for 3 years and is a former player. Searels is Georgia’s Oline coach. Another option is Eagles assistant Oline coach Roy Istvan.

You know Harbaugh and Frank Smith would build from the inside out.

Very true but with Telesco gone, you got to feel better about the drafting at least a little.

But again, Im good as long as we go offense. Once I actually get deep into evals, if I dont like the oline prospects on day 2, Im probably going to lean towards Fashanu and Alt, over Bowers with our first pick.

I imagine, since Telesco is gone, we are far more likely to see a trade back...if we stay in the top 10 after such a trade, we could still have a shot at Bowers, along with the RT from Alabama, and Latu, and Newton, and Koolaid..probably best possible scenario...
gonna be interested to see, after you take a closer look, whether you like Latham or Fuaga better @RT for us ??

ditto when taking a closer look @Bowers vs. someone on the Dline.... (for myself the biggest consideration when balancing needs to available talent in the draft is hedging our bets on Khalil w/Latu)

and bact to OT.... have heard/read some rumbling re: Fashanu.... that he's more top ten than top five.... is his run blocking a deal breaker ?? and how good is Alt ?? (don't think either will be there btw)

and if we trade back, who are your targets ?? Kool Aid ?? how far back does Newton fall back... or is he worth a top ten pick ?? what about Tuimoloau, Trice, or even Verse.... ??

Wiggins CB from Clemens would be a good pick in the 1st. The CB's have sucked for sometime. Maybe it was coaching. Who knows.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

would you take him over McKinstry ?? over Jared Verse, Bralen Trice, JT Tuimoloau ?? over Keon Coleman, Malik Nabers ?? Taliese Fuaga, JC Latham ?? Dallas Turner, Chop Robinson ??

not sure Wiggins isn't in the third tier of guys in the first round.... not even sure he's better than Terrion Arnold ?? know Wiggins has shut down/out some guys, and.... dunno ??

Honestly, Harrison Jr. would be my choice but don't think he will be there. I don't really know how bad the dline and oline are but think a lot of the issues on both sides of the was coaching. I do know that the Charger's WR's are old and injury prone. Herbert needs weapons.

Our OL personnel are better than the results. OL got worse bigtime under Moore. Big OOPS! here. I thought we would get better.
We need a HC and OC that prioritize / demand OL effectiveness and an OL coach(s) that can develop players across the OL both as individuals and their teamwork.
The whole team has to be a team. (duh) but it always starts in the trenches. The "skill" guys don't get to shine without an effective OL and OL teamwork.
I don't care who does it, gimme that. Gimme an OL that can take control of the LOS.
                Free Herbert!

The only player I would take over McKinstry is Harrison. Our secondary is pure trash but Harrison is an instant weapon... I also don't like taking a WR in the first round back 2 back, but TT whiffed on QJ.

Is Kool-Aid worth a tip 10 pick? I’ve heard and read mixed scouting reports on him. Is there more value in the early 2nd round?

Which is why Fouts and Rivers have no Super Bowl rings and Herbert doesn't have a playoff win.

I have no issue with drafting an offensive tackle if a great one is there when we pick in the first round. Not sure there will be one available, though.
Fouts and early Rivers were playing behind top 5 offensive lines ......

I have no problem going after the best player to help Herbert, but you don't need 1rst rounders to get a solid Oline.
