2024 Chargers Draft Superthread - Prospect Discussion - Draft Has Started

A WR I have heard that was massively underused and can be a steal in the 4th or 5th is Michael Sturdivant out of UCLA. Interested to see how he tests. You draft gurus out there know much about him?

I like Bowers a lot but if they can trade back for more picks, get a CB. We need a CB. I think that is our weakest position.

PS, I've seen Penix in at least half a dozen other games. He's much better than he was the other night. I don't know if it was the pressure of the big game or the pressure of the Michigan defense. He played great in his two games against my Ducks and those were big games so I suspect it was the steady pressure that got to him.

I saw 3 UW games and he was much better in all three. I watched both OU games and agree - he was the primary reason they won both and that ain’t no small fete at all, thats a monster season to just beat OU twice.

I think it was both - UM defense was tenacious and it got to him. Big deficit, continued pressure, UM DBs were mugging Odunze all game long - Harbaugh had a great game plan and they executed it to neutralize UW’s explosive offense.

We may be able to trade back and still land Bowers. NFL not in love with drafting TEs that high. Plenty of high ranking OTs at the top of the board and somebody is
going to want a QB.

Charger needs for prime time draftees: CB, OT, Edge
Other needs: TE, C, RB, LB DT in other words just about any position outside of QB.

Yeah, Pip was drafted prior to Staley. Another masterful 3rd round Sammy Small School reach by our ever-beloved former GM, TT.

Definitely underused hence not much to say. Was supposed to be the speed guy

If he goes to a team and proves his believers right, there will be people here who moan and say how we should have drafted him.

my thought process on this was just play it straight, took bowers, newton fell to us so i scooped him up, hed help with the dline, tampa is a big physical corner he thumps like young derwin. audric angry runner between the tackles yes please. with linsley gone we take nugent throw him in see how he does, zinter takes salyer spot and we kick salyer out to rt. milton i dont love, but hes big and kinda fast, he could help us this year

Can't go wrong with Bowers or Nabers. Bowers might be as good as Gates. Nabers might be the next Deebo Samuel with better ball skills.
What I like best is they get the ball out of Herbie's hands fast, unlike Mike Williams and Quentin Johnson.
Fine with either at 5, but have to draft a center in 2nd or 3rd, and a tackle through the draft or FA, or vice versa as some have suggested.
