Position value starts with QB- OT( anti edge rush)- Edge Rush. We need our GM - HC- OC- DC in place to make some calls on vet keepers and who we are going to be on O and D.
I'd look at OT and Edge if not WR / Bowers at 5.

It's laughable. A player like Latu dominated his last two years in college, won the Ted Hendricks and Lombardi Awards, and possesses the ideal size and traits anyone would want in a pass-rusher. But we now have to believe he'd be a reach at the fifth overall pick because so-called experts like Dane Brugler and the ESPN scribe you cited have him ranked ninth and 14th.
So I ask you this, besides what you've read, what makes you believe Latu, Dallas Turner, or Kool-Aid would be a reach with the fifth overall pick?
Lets just wait for Jim to get here - he'll know.

i am fine with taking Bowers or Nabers at #5 and go from there to the rest of the draft. i would like to see one 5-star beast line up on our offense (fun factor x 10).

This CBS article from today confirms this thought.

If I was the Bolts GM, I'd take Bowers at 5. He looks to have all the makings of a great TE. I think you get that premium player in the first round and perhaps trade down in the second round.
The Bolts picked arguably the best player they ever had with the fifth pick (LT) and the best player on defense, (Junior), with the fifth pick. Maybe that's the teams sweat spot!THE YEAR OF THE FLIP!

As a frame of reference here, Philip Rivers was selected (by the Giants) with the 4th overall pick. Justin Herbert was selected with the 6th overall pick of his draft class.
If, with the 5th pick this year, the Bolts get a player as good as either Rivers or Herbert, we'll be dancing in the streets. Harrison, Nabers and Bowers will not ALL be gone by #5 so I think the Bolts are poised to get a guy who'll have a great NFL career.

If they traded down no further than 8th overall, IMO they'll still have access to a future star. Just... it'll be the star that's left over, not the pick-of-the-litter star they COULD have taken at #5. I'm told that draft-value-wise, they'd expect to get a 3rd and a 4th for making that deal.

Name a successful trade down the Bolts have ever done. (Palomalu?)
Name a successful trade up the Bolts have ever done? (Leaf, Gordon, K9?)
Historically, we have lost every draft pick trade I can think of.Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.
