I still think we should draft Bowers, HOWEVER... KC and their win today is a PRIME example why we need to bolster the secondary with real talent. Trading down for Kool Aid should also be considered IMHO.

Gates was a once in a lifetime score, saying we can get a Bowers as a UDFA is disingenuous

I'm not saying we can't, I'm saying it shouldn't be assumed we always can as a reason to pass on Bowers or to downgrade his draft spot.

I am open to trading down, just dont understand why it is always for Kool-Aid on here. I want speed on this team, badly. He is not the top ranked CB for most draft experts, often 3rd or 4th

Watching Jahmyr Gibbs is a great example about special playmakers. Most on here would never condone drafting a RB at 12 but Detroit recognized a special playmaker. I would say Gibbs has made more difference to Lions success this year, than CB Gonzalez would have at 12.

When I think of what the Chiefs have that we don't have? to me the glaring difference is that they have a playmaking TE and a playmaking interior defensive lineman, those two areas are lacking on the Chargers...drafting Bowers could fix one of those two deficits, I don't think there is an interior defender that is worthy of a top ten pick right now, is there?

You could start looking at Newton in the 10 to 20 range.

For me if we dont trade down for extra picks and we have the rare opportunity to pick at 5, I want a difference maker.

We have been burned by Kelce year after year. How about we unleash our own Kelce on the Chiefs for the next 10 years? I think Nabers is a special talent also who would be the top WR in most drafts that dont have Marvin Harrison.

sounds like the consensus guy is Brock bowers, I thought last year when Georgia destroyed TCU that wouldn't it be nice to have a chance to draft a guy like that, and now we are in the position to do so, hopefully they don't overthink the pick...

Harbaugh tried to recruit him to Michigan so clearly knows the player and TEs are important in Michigan. We will see

I love Gibbs, and was hoping he would fall to us.

Christian Gonzalez was the Defensive Rookie of the Month in September and suffered a season-ending injury. I'm not confident that Gibbs would be making much of an impact behind New England's offensive line. I doubt the Lions would have drafted Gibbs 12th overall if their offensive line was garbage.

Fair enough its all relative, based on your roster.

I just want to load up our best asset with better weapons to do away with the predicatbale plodding offense we suffered through this year. Look how great Jared Goff looks with his array of weapons and SPEED and explosion

We need a better running game for sure... If you look at the combo Detroit has with Montgomery and Gibbs, we could draft something similar with maybe Audric Estime/Montgomery type with Blake Corum/Gibbs type!!!!!
