Holker could be good value in round 5...has good hands and catch radius, but has an injury history:

    Scouting Report: Strengths
    • He can move the chains and has the skills to stand out in the red zone with sneaky foot speed and long stride to top-producing tight end.
    • Holker has a decent enormous catch radius and shows the ability to get low to dig out passes.
    • Excellent receiving abilities with a knack for finding soft spots in defenses.
    • Strong and reliable hands, ensuring consistent catch completions.
    • Displays good route-running skills, creating separation from defenders.
    • Effective in the red zone, showcasing an ability to secure touchdowns.
    • Capable of making plays after the catch with decent yards-after-catch numbers.
    • Demonstrates solid blocking techniques, both in pass protection and run blocking.
    • Has a good understanding of offensive schemes and adapts well to different play calls.
    • Brings experience and maturity to the tight end position, having played at two college programs.
    Scouting Report: Weaknesses
    • Needs to improve overall athletic explosiveness to compete at the NFL level.
    • Lacks elite speed, which may limit his ability to stretch the field vertically.
    • Could enhance his agility to maneuver more effectively in tight spaces.
    • History of injuries, including a significant ankle injury, raises durability concerns.
    • May struggle against NFL-level physicality and press coverage.

    Scouting Report: Summary

Dallin Holker's journey to Colorado State, following a transfer from BYU, marked a turning point in his career. At BYU, Holker was a freshman in 2018, took a break for a mission trip, and then missed most of the 2022 season due to an ankle injury. However, his time at Colorado State showed his potential, where he made 64 catches for 767 yards and six touchdowns.

Holker's strengths lie in his ability to deliver in crucial moments and even against tough opposition, making him a reliable target in clutch situations. Despite his less-than-ideal explosive speed off the line, Holker's proficiency in making plays in traffic and his effective use of size and technique in blocking make him a versatile asset. His soft hands, good catch technique, and ability to gain separation with head fakes and stutter steps are positives.

However, there are areas where Holker needs serious improvement. His reaction time at the snap, overall play strength, particularly after the catch, and his ability to consistently block at the line are points of concern. His average speed given his size and athletic ability, combined with a need to improve his blocking technique, suggests that he may be more suited to a slot receiver role at the pro level. His versatility and excellent hands could see him being an asset for teams looking for a tight end with a balanced skill set.

Rating: 80.8 Rank: #8 Forty: 4.78 Dallin Holker's journey to Colorado State, following a transfer from BYU, marked a turning point in his career. At BYU, Holker was a freshman in 2018, to...
    22 - TE Mason Taylor
    55 - RB Quinshon Judkins
    86 - DL Josiah Stewart
    125 - G Dylan Fairchild
    158 - C Jake Majors
    181 - WR Donte Thornton

While generally I agree, let's remember that the #4 WR was taken in the 5th round (Puka). And 2022's Mr. Irrelevant almost got fitted for a ring this past Sunday.

Every draft is different. I like this draft into the 4th and early 5th.
In the 6th and 7th... get a blocking TE and/or off-ball LB to back up Henly. There are even some nice depth pieces at WR, RB, TE, and LB. Some safety and CB depth starts making sense at 5th round, too. Gotta have depth with the way this team accrues injuries.
      Protect the QB
      Run the ball
      Play great defense

I see he did log some snaps at RG...but that was probably one game due to an injury, so they could have the best group out there...or those snaps were for specific plays...like goaline, or jumbo right package, Im guessing.
        Lone Bolt's Final Mock

Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Sikkema shares that from what he's heard that he thinks it's between CB & WR @5, and leans Odunze.... Trice is still on his board @37.... would we then move on from the both of Keenan 'n Khalil ??

Brugler is my quick shortcut to this year’s draft 😅. Even though he does have some interesting takes like the gap between MHJ and Naber being smaller than we think.

With the 2023 season officially in the books, it's time to turn our attention to the draft. Which players belong in Rounds 1-3?

If we move on from both Mack and Bosa, I cant see anything but edge at 5...and we would be reaching a bit... cant see a corner at 5. To me, Tuli and Trice are of the same vein...strong #2s...but together with nobody dynamic behind them? Tough sell...you would need a speed guy, and maybe a good inside rusher to add...sum of the parts, if you know what I mean...then something like that could work.

I like some of the evals by those guys at NFL stock exchange...they do alot of work...but their opinions on what each team actually needs? Biased, like any pundit, on what they value, and although informed by knowledge of prospects, not much better than diehard fans, IMO.

Honestly, and dont get excited Nutty...but our best course is to find a way to trade back...then, the value is there in BOTH defense AND offense...we can trade back and get WR, maybe Brock, CB, DT, Edge...all high caliber...even RT in Fuaga...

Hope we can find a partner.

Nabers is so tough to pass on. Same with Odunze.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                Let’s win one for Mack.

If we pass on Bowers, he falls to Indy at 15 potentially. Does that really make him a great pick at 5?

No. Being an elite player makes him a great pick at 5.

I still think we have too many needs to stay at 5. Trade down as much we can to get more 2nd and 3rd round picks.

This also one of those drafts where you take BPA at PON. No luxury picks IMO.
