Mahomes SB wins he had better OL play. Didn't even have Hill the most explosive WR in the game. Draft the Ferrari when you have pot holes and crack in the foundation isn't a good way to start the plan. Invest in OL. It helps the entire team. All three phases are helped by OL play. Both Offense and Special team can be more successful and Defense can rest more. And it protects you #1 asset. The franchise QB.
Joe Alt at #5 or trade back for more picks.
And still draft OL with Rd 1.

It always starts up front and there will always be injuries.
If they go O line in the first round, Pipkins will still get plenty of playing time.
I’m also hoping to see more 6 O Lineman plays.

I was watching a lengthy Deijun Edwards video to see what Beachcomber is on about...but after awhile I started watching Sedrick...and he has some startling whiffs...but for now, Ill keep him on my wishlist, with the hopes he can get coached out of those mistakes...I mean, he gets out there nicely...but overshoots. Certainly correctable...

My dream scenario, outside of Bowers, is to trade back, nab Fuaga, then use that capitol with our 2 to trade back up and get JPJ...then add Estime in the third...

      Power/gap paradise...
I like Fuaga but if the Chargers draft him we're going to get the same folks that want to move Slater to guard coming out of the woodwork, Fuaga's arms are 33" just like Slater, I can hear it already folks saying we drafted another guard to play tackle for us...

If you are trading down it's going to be to grab one of the top corners, unless if Hortiz and Harbaugh decide to trade multiple times to get a crap ton of picks to rebuild the roster, in that scenario why not just take JPJ in the 20-25 range? they could end up with like 10 picks in this draft plus pick up draft capital for 2025 if they did some crazy shit like that...let's face it, the team needs players all over the fucking place, TE, RB, IDL, LB, CB, S, Edge, FB, OT, it's a lot to try and hammer out in one draft but they can reshape the roster in Harbaugh's image by moving down several times...multiple 2nd, 3rd, and 4rth round picks sounds pretty damn good right about now...

Is ________ as good as [insert your perceived greatest TE]?
Is ________ as good as Lawrence Taylor?
Is ________ as good as Deione Sanders?

All of the sudden... none of this year's prospect are worth the #5 pick.

But more specifically, compare players [top-5 to top-11] to each other... and don't forget your coach's preference or GM's tendencies. They want to run the ball and protect the franchise QB. They want to play defense. They want to accumulate draft picks.

If Hortiz can find a trade partner, he'll want to trade back to a spot his coach feels comfortable with.
If that spot is #10 or #11, then envision who the coach thinks is the best player to help them run better, protect the franchise QB, or play better defense.

I can think of several players... none of them are WR or TE. I'm thinking RT, CB, or DE.
See I give credit where credit is due. That was a smart precise detailed take.

Heres my argument I don’t think your guy Alt is good as Fuaga as what you’re saying. Running that’s all Fuaga stuff so mention him. Did you see Oregon States run offense last season one of the best in the pack 12.

Also I Think Jordan Miller from Arizona is just as good if not better. He’s a mammoth of a man. And he really did a great job this season. He was the anchor on a great run team that got physical with teams. So let’s talk about that.

So if you can get him at the end of the first round or beginning of the second round why get Alt in the first round at 5 I think Fuaga Williams Fashanou are a lot closer then you think these guys are.

I don’t say the same about Nabers Oudonzie Bowers or Harrison Jr.

with the run on Quarterbacks we have a legit shot at a blue chip Prospect. At 5 that’s what I want. And we can talk about how we want to play and all that.

But at the end of the day you gotta make the plays convert on 3rd down sometimes 4th down score touchdowns. And these guys do that. With an All pro At left Tackle in Rashawn Slater I don’t think we need to override skill for power.

And I would make an argument.

          Im not comparing them.

But I see elite talent comparison to Jerry Rice Malik Nabers Marvin Harrison Jr.

I see elite talent comparison to Terrell Owens Romeo Oudunzie

I see elite talent comparison Brock Bowers Rob Gronkowski Travis Kelce

Meaning I see these guys closer to these prospects based on skillset can they do what these elite hall of fame talents do on a football field yes.

And if you give me another Keenan Allen in Romeo Odunze. I will take that.

If your new coach and your new GM want to run and protect... then Pippy probably ain't next year's starter.

I'm not against trying Salyer @RT. But that will be up to the coach and GM. Not you. Not me.

The Ravens got it done with a 4th round TE last year. His name is Isaiah Likely. It's comical that you think there is only one exact guy @TE that you think can help the Chargers... We're going to run the ball, and protect the QB. The coach has said it (done it) over and over again. We're going to play defense. We're going to trade back for extra picks. Again, the GM has said this (done this) over and over again.
              o
Key word: Upgrade. We have Sayler, he played OT in college. Played pretty well for us at LT when called upon. Why did we move him to OG? In my opinion OG play was worse
than OT. Pips was bad against the best edge rushers in the league. Few ROT are any good against elite edge guys. Run blocking between the tackles was bad. That's a big function
of OG play. Pressure the pocket from the middle was just as bad as from the edge.
              ,
We lack playmakers on offense. We had Williams, Allen and Ekeler. Williams got hurt. Ekeler turned to mush. That left us Allen and a decent but not great TE. The result. was not
good. We could not protect Herbert on 3rd downs due to the blitz. That's a problem with coaching. Missed assignments and much more.

The argument I am making is that Bowers will impact the offense more than Alt. That's my opinion. You have yours. We just disagree, nothing new for a Charger forum.
I will be happy if we get Alt, I'll be happier if we land Bowers. Happier still if we trade down and still land Bowers.

The comp I've seen on Odunze is Larry Fitzgerald. I'd have no problem taking some of that.

Tom Telesco reunites with his favorite project tackle Trey Pipkins in Las Vegas, who currently have a hole at right tackle."

                        22 - TE Mason Taylor
                        55 - RB Quinshon Judkins
                        86 - DL Josiah Stewart
