5 Bowers, Dallas Turner, Verse, Alt, Laiatu, Malik, Marvin, Olumuyiwa, Quinyon, Odunze, Taliese, Terrion Arnold * 18 deep counting QBs

37 Bralen Trice, Darius Robinson, Edgerrin Cooper, Ja'Tavion Sanders, Kamari Lassiter, Kingsley Suamataia, Ladd McConkey, T'Vondre, Tyler Nubin, Zach Frazier * the latter is a mandate for a FA OC

69 Ben Sinnott, Corum, Braelon Allen, Christian Haynes, Cooper Beebe, Ja'Lynn Polk, Jeremiah Trotter, Jonathan Brooks, Junior Colson, Mar'Keise Irving, Sainristil, Sedrick VPG, Trey Benson * for the if and when we get an extra pick, think its gotta be RB, altho OG/LB looks pretty decent here as well

106 Brendan Rice, Cade Stover, Cedric Gray, Cole Bishop, DeWayne Carter, Jaylen Wright, MarShawn Lloyd, Ray Davis, Will Shipley, Zak Zinter * and don't know 'bout you, but obviously eye need an extra pick here as well

223 Kimani Vidal, Miyan Williams, Tip Reiman * know the whole lotta yah will be leaning blocking TE here

256 Brevyn Span Ford, Isaac Guerendo, Jaylon Carlies, Jordan Magee, Keilan Robinson, Tanner McLachlan, Trente Jones, Tylan Grable * would be nice if we could add some of these guys as UDFAs

just as a reminder: don't think you want to wait 'til round 4 for your RB.... round three or bust/come 'n get it.
and you goin' WR/TE round one, and then CB/WR round two ?? or are you a beef before gazelles guy ?? !! do you want a Lombardi, or do you just like to rack up the yards on offense.... ??

It's 3:30AM and Rome is waking up in a cold sweat dreaming about that 3rd freakin' cone.

6-3 with elite hands and 4.45 speed. 6.88 3-cone. Nearly same 10-yard split as Tyreek. I knew he had speed....why does he not just run past dudes like Nabers? Does Penix have a noodle arm or somethin'?

Interesting interview and insight into the minds of football operations staff Chris Long interview of Mike Mayock...really really good humor and insight...one of the best I've seen this off season.

And they got those guys because Andy Reid doesn't mind having scum bags on his roster.

After trading Hill, they've selected consecutively 2nd round wide receivers.
Kelce is living on borrowed time.
Reid also used only two first-round picks on wide receivers in Philadelphia.

Tyreek Hill wasn't on the Chiefs' roster until 2016. Reid's first-round picks prior to Tyreek's arrival in 2016 were offensive tackle, pass-rusher, cornerback, and then he didn't have a first-round pick in 2016 but used his first selection in the second round on defensive tackle Chris Jones.

In Philadelphia, after drafting Donovan McNabb in the first round in 1999, Reid's first-round picks went like this:

            2000: Defensive tackle
            2001: Wide receiver
            2002: Cornerback
            2003: Defensive end
            2004: Offensive guard/tackle
            2005: Defensive tackle
            2006: Defensive tackle
2007: No first-round pick. First pick in second round was a quarterback.
2008: No first-round pick. First pick in second round was a defensive tackle
            2009: Wide receiver
            2010: Defensive end
            2011: Offensive guard
            2012: Defensive tackle

Fourteen years in Philly for Reid. Eight of his first-round picks were on linemen. Eleven years so far in Kansas City. Four first-round picks on linemen. Two more picks traded for an offensive tackle (Orlando Brown) and a pass-rusher (Frank Clark). Twenty-five years as a head coach for Reid. Fourteen of his first-round picks have been dedicated to linemen. Seven of the picks on linemen were in the top 15, most notably Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox. The only times he's used top-15 picks on players who aren't/weren't linemen happened when he took quarterbacks--Donovan McNabb and Patrick Mahomes.

This is not a coincidence. After Reid has his quarterback, he focuses on building up both sides of the line as the next priority. Belichick was the same way in New England. I imagine Harbaugh and Hortiz will be the same way. Unless Marvin Harrison is there, I don't think we're taking a wide receiver in the first round. I think we're doing everything we can to trade down and take the best offensive lineman or pass-rusher available.

Too much emphasis on the 40-yard dash. Just because a player runs a slow time doesn't mean he needs to be taken off of the draft board.

              Jerry Rice: 4.71
              Ed Reed: 4.57
              Puka Nacua: 4.57
              Cooper Kupp: 4.62
              Arian Foster: 4.69
              Anquan Boldin: 4.71
              Larry Fitzgerald: 4.63
              Xavien Howard: 4.58
              Davante Adams: 4.56
              Richard Sherman: 4.56
              Keenan Allen: 4.71
              DeAndre Hopkins: 4.57
              Le'Veon Bell: 4.6
              Marcus Peters: 4.53
              Kam Chancellor: 4.69
              Kyle Hamiton: 4.59

Been doing some research and these are some of the guys I like after round one with highlight videos for your enjoyment. These are in no particular order:

                1) Renardo Green, CB, FSU. Best press CB in college. Chargers will have to take him in the 2nd round.

                2) Mohamad Kamarah, DE, CSU. High energy productive guy.

                3) Khristian Boyd, DL, UNI. Probably 6th rnd pick but I really like this guy and think he is a Harbaugh type player. Had a good showing at the Shrine Bowl
Khristian Boyd, UNI Football Senior Defensive Lineman 2023 (youtube.com)

                4) Hunter Nourzad, C, Penn State. Maybe another late round pick but also had a good showing at the Shrine Bowl.
                Hunter Nourzad Center Highlights (youtube.com)

                5) Tahj Washing, WR, USC. Light WR but would make a nice #3 WR that can get open.

This is why I am ok with multiple trade downs if the Chargers can do it in the 1st rnd. So many good players will be available in the later rounds that at a minimum can provide depth which the Chargers have been sorely missing.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

I'm also down to draft 2 RBs, or draft one, sign one.
I'm glad to bring him to camp, but I'm not expecting anything from him based on the cumulative sum of all of the carries I have seen him take since he was drafted.

Dotson ran one to the house too. Topcat still holds a guest room open in his house for The Dot and places fresh cut flowers every 3 days on the hope he'll stop by.

why do you keep combining DTs with OL as if its the same to our draft question of taking Alt first this year? I've been pounding the table here for a decade we need to spend a top pick on a top DT that plays inside the tackles. Thats still a bigger need for the team in 2024.

I am not saying use the 5th pick on IDL or Center but I agree - the biggest needs on the team to me are figuring out Center and IDL.

I would put CB up there at the top of needs as well. Chargers need a press CB badly. It would be nice to have a CB that can do his thing for the whole game and not have to worry about it. I'm starting to warm up to Ronardo Green in the 2nd.

                          C
                          IDL
                          CB
LB (x2 - its Hanley and Niemann I think now)
TE (x2 - one a good blocker, one to catch the ball)
                          RB
Back Up QB -- not a priority in draft but a need

The list is long - hence trading back makes sense
