It's not as if QJ was the only Charger who had a disappointing year.

How bad a season would a 1st round draft pick have to have, to be cut after his rookie season? You'd not only have to play poorly, but you'd also have to be a team cancer. There's no reason to think any of that applies to QJ.

And all the trade back stuff yeah we’ll get our guy there. The Arizona Cardinals were cocky like that to. They had no thought of Trading up or trading back and they just chilled and thought they were getting Patrick Mahomes. Then Kansas City Jumped them and got Patrick Mahomes and traded up.

I mentioned taking Renardo Green CB FSU in the 2nd round. Look what he did against Nabers when FSU played LSU. He held him to 2 catches on 5 targets. It was Nabers worst game of 2023. He is an under the radar CB.

Year 1 to year 2 is where we expect draftees to make their big improvement. I hope QJ is out there working every day on improving his game. He knows he wasn’t good enough last year.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
          Let’s win one for Mack.

They’d have to go all the way to #2. I don’t see the Commanders trading back. Daniels is the #1 QB in the draft IMO even though the Bears will take Caleb Williams at #1. If for some reason the Commanders take Maye, I think the Patriots might be open for business to trade that pick.

QJ will fill the MW's shoes next year.
And In don't talk about injury.

First round picks that don’t come out hot take a lot of shit. Thats the ride they got on and they get paid well enough to take it, i guess. I hope he jumps in class in yr2.

If I had to guess 1 Michigan player that will be drafted by the Chargers and he’s there at 37, it will be Kris Jenkins. For some reason after hearing Jim Harbaugh mention Jenkins in that Harbaughism interview with his brother, I just have a feeling.

I’ve mentioned Khristian Boyd DL somewhere and posted a highlight video. I really like this guy and he stood out at the Shrine Bowl.

Actually A.J. Smith never drafted an offensive lineman in the first round, and one of his worst mistakes was not addressing the right tackle spot when Jeromey Clary was there the majority of the time. The offensive line's deterioration was one of the biggest reasons why A.J. was fired.

All of these "amazing skill position players." What expertise do you possess leads you to believe Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze will be any better than Kevin White (seventh overall pick in 2015), Corey Davis (fifth overall pick in 2017), or John Ross (ninth overall pick in 2017)? I'm sure if White, Davis, and Ross were coming out now you'd be calling them "amazing," too.

My pointing out that Reid has used the majority of his first-round picks on linemen has not been about my wanting to take Joe Alt fifth overall. As I've stated before, my greatest hope for this draft is trading back and taking an offensive tackle (Fuaga) or a pass-rusher (Latu, Verse, or Turner). We've been a team that has gotten its ass kicked at the line of scrimmage for years. We just hired an excellent head coach whose teams have won big while kicking ass up front on both sides of the ball, and so many on this forum are acting like it's idiotic to address the offensive or defensive line in the first round simply because they're in love with Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, or Brock Bowers.

I agree that defensive tackle is a huge need for us. Again, however, there isn't one who seems to be worth a top-20 pick in this draft. There doesn't seem to be an Aaron Donald, Fletcher Cox, Quinnen Williams, or Jeffery Simmons. Maybe we'll pick a defensive tackle in the second round, such as Kris Jenkins, and we'll be pleasantly surprised to see him turn out like Chris Jones, who was drafted in the second.
