    LOL

MH2 hasn't taken a snap in the NFL yet, so he isn't an accurate comparison to the others.

Yes a trade down is the winning play.

But it is next to impossible to present a solid case for passing on MHJ, Nabers, BB or Odunze. This will be debated around here for years.

And for the life of me, I do not understand the purported legitimacy of bagging on Joe Alt. Nowhere worth mentioning is he mocked below @ #8. Show me you don't watch tape, without saying you don't watch tape.
I don't understand this either. I actually agree with Jeremiah about trading down as we have a lot of areas to address, but people have complained about our line for years and Pipkins is nobody's favorite here. Alt is rated as high as he is for a reason.

A GM can either accept or reject any offers made. A GM can make a counter-offer, then it's up to the OTHER GM to accept, reject, or counter the counteroffer. It's nothing personal...just business...

He only took 2 OL in that span. OL is 5/22 starters ~ 25% of the starting team, he used less picks than that so nothing jumps out as him hugely investing his top picks in OL at all. Note he took interior OL late in Rd1 too, which is where the interior OL often go after the premium skill players all disappear off the board. he didn't have Top 5 picks, so apples and oranges almost.

I am not seeing ANYONE calling for him to take a DT with our first pick - nobody. not you, not anyone. But IDL - I'll get my trashcan and bat out again ...

          WE GOT NO IDL!!!

We carry 5 IDLs on the current roster. So far none stand out. Last year we also ran some sort of 3/4, So another 3 DE guys there. Total of 8 DLs with no standouts.
So to say we don't have IDL is not quite correct. We stink at IDL would be correct.

C has to be addressed early in draft or FA or the team is going nowhere.

A top 5 pick should bring value - especially if the other team is targeting a CB. So maybe pillage is a strong word but I think you maximize the value of a top 5 pick

In the later rounds - if you want to follow the guidelines of the Johnson trade chart as a gauge for the value - thats fine. But a top 5 pick, trading up for QB . The Niners went from 12 to 3 and paid 3 first round picks for Lance - well in reality an extra two FRPs because one of them was like a pick swap. For the the Vikings to go from 11 to 5 - besides switching 5 and 11 - the Vikings would need to add like a 2nd and possibly 4th round pick plus a future 2025 pick.

Let’s talk about trade ups. If one of Michigans top players fall a round, say Corum or Jenkins, does Hortiz trade up to nab him? I’d suspect yes. Harbaugh knows what his guys bring.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                Let’s win one for Mack.

Yep...a top 5 pick is gold...it could be the difference between a franchise-saving QB and a GM getting fired...

Yep...we need ahem, a TRASH CAN full of dirt or two to be our stout run-stoppers...

A lot of teams have had great success trading back. Jimmy Johnson was a master of it with the Cowboys. So was Bill Walsh with the 49ers. Multiple general managers who didn't trade back made huge mistakes. Dave Gettleman, the former general manager of the New York Giants, said he turned the phones off in the draft room when he took Saquon Barkley second overall in 2018. Imagine how much better the Giants would be now if Gettleman had traded back and taken Josh Allen, the quarterback, who went seventh overall in that draft. Gettleman would have even been better off trading down and taking offensive guard Quenton Nelson, a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro who went sixth overall in that draft.

Our previous general manager, Tom Telesco, never traded back, which I find amazing--in a very bad way. I don't think Hortiz will make that same mistake.
I don’t think so. There were clear indications that Mahomes was a hot Quarterback. And the most buzz Quarterback with potential. I saw him at Texas Tech. That’s why Arizona liked him and wanted him. It’s not his fault the 49ers fucked up and didn’t look at him or didn’t work him out.

The Cardinals had Carson Palmer and were willing to draft him and sit him. And they gambled.

As for the Giants. It wasn’t bad. Saquon won them a playoff game and took them to the playoffs. He’s been great and everything he’s been advertised to be an every down back. He’s had great seasons and games. They all get hurt. McCafrey got hurt. What has Josh Allen won???

Call MH2 "Superman"...or, his real nickname:

No. 3 Ohio State's Marvin Harrison enjoyed his best game of the season, leading the way in the Buckeyes dominant win over No. 7 Penn State.

You get the picture. Joe Alt is the son of John Alt. There's a bloodline component that gives Alt a credibility that a majority of other prospects DON'T possess.

That said, it would appear that this draft class provides better value than Joe Alt through the first eight selections. IMO.

Very good point, However, it doesnt always work though.

Walter Paytons Son didnt fare well. George Atkinson Son didnt fare well. Jealyn Reagor is a bust whose father was a DT, Winslows kid was a rapist, Moss kid didnt fare well, Chris Simms was meh, Rob Carpenters kid didnt fare very well....i mean there are many examples of Father/Sons in the league and its a very long list in Wikipedia. Some have been great and some havent.

I believe Alt will be good.

Some of these guys that will be good NFL players will be generation #1 for their future kids.
