If someone offered me a third round pick for QJ, I would take it. But that’s not likely, even from Telesco. Hands of stone and not particularly fast. He always had DB’s draped all over him.

Except outside of Allen, we don't have great receivers. At one time we had a healthy Allen, Williams and Guyton as a speedster. Those days are gone.
We have a developing WR in Palmer. He's good but not great. QJ, we don't yet have a clear picture of what he may or may not be.

Both a great receiver and TE would do wonders for this offense. Unfortunately we need a lot more than just a WR or TE. That's exactly why
all the talk about trading down.

We're just sharing opinions here.
The Chargers have players at every position so we're talking upgrades at estimated level of need.
I have C and RB as top O needs, LB and CB top D needs.
There's room for a top WR or the top TE if Harbaugh wants one.
Trading down a few spots we're still in the ballpark re WR, TE but probably not our top choice.
FA and cap moves will provide some clues about H2's thoughts. Likewise OTAs will have some feedback.
The LAC draft could be all quantity over quality for all I know. Or, maybe not.

Thats true. If there is a market for him -- sure. But doubt he would get a third round pick based on his first year and its not like there will be cap savings - or that much of it

Weird thing is I can see arizona passing on MH2 for a pass rusher and maybe trading down to #6 and still getting Dallas Turner. If the cardinals play this draft right they might be the most improved team out of this draft and then the commanders. They (Cardinals) have six picks inside the top 100 and could turn it into 7 picks with a small trade down.

You know the only reason why RT’s don’t play LT? Because there’s someone better already playing LT.

In likelihood you are correct but I think it is a little more nuanced. I would trust the staff to work him out and ensure he had the ability to switch but at that point you are using LT draft capital for RT which to me is a waste. There is also a non zero chance he doesn't excel at RT like he did at LT in which case you really screwed up and took day 2 production at 5th overall. I'm conservative about the draft though as I'd rather take B picks in every round then a couple As and a few C-s. For the next two years we need a lot of production from rookies.

Saints have garbage draft capital. 2nd rounder from Denver but their next pick is the 5th round

So for the Saints to move up to 5 - would cost a future 1st and 2nd plus their current 2nd - at minimum

I think the Vikings and Falcons make the most sense

Sure. Any position players in NO interest you ? I am just trying to establish boundaries. How much do we covet the too level talent ? Dare we trade down into the 20s ?

At the moment we have no starting quality: C, RB, TE on offense. On defense a lot remains to be seen.
We'll know more after FA begins. But for sure a CB as we only have 2 that started. Interior DL looks weak.
LBs look weak.

Upgrades can be used at WR, O line, Edge (pending Mack and Bosa situation), safety.

Therefore a lot of potentially moving parts. Top half of the draft is loaded with WRs, O line and couple
of CBs and edge guys. I'd like to stay top 15, preferable top 10 if trading down.

Buffalo cut 7 players already. Much more to come. Those are freebies sort of speak because no need
to give up compensation. Maybe had for cheap as well. But we got to get under the cap first.

Next couple of days and upcoming weeks before the draft very interesting times.
