    CB, backup
    NT, starter

That’s seven, and we have nine picks.

I would argue the OL backups could be guys who should be starters if at all possible (has Salyer and Pipkins as starters…man, I almost wanna flip those two).

To note: no FB on our roster right now.

Too many needs for the higher picks we have, gonna be fascinating to see how JH2 handles this.
I guess you need an update
    It's March 24th

If it were August 24th, ...you have a point.

I’m curious why you think Harbo is gong to slant his draft to pick UM players? You think his large scouting and personnel staff don’t have detailed evaluations and ratings of all of the key players from every NCAA Team? You don’t think they break down talent, potential, ability and rank them? Is there a special UM Alum column on their draft board? Nothing personal, you’re hardly the only one that is posted Harbaugh will take X because he was a wolverine and Zinter is actually a good player so it’s not about him.

I’m more curious about the oft-stated theme that Harbaugh is going to take a Wolverine just because he coached there. That is effectively accusing him of knowingly not taking the best player available either overall or even within a position, if the best player didn’t play at UM? I am not buying that Harbaugh will do that, that Hortiz would agree with that, or that it will happen.

I’m trusting Harbaugh to build the best team he can, not see how fast he can put his old garage band back together for a reunion gig.

I’m a big fan of Sarainstil (I butchered the spelling - apologies). That kid is sticky like sushi rice and plays with a bit of CB asshole that I like, he fucks with receivers just to get in their head. Zinter is a good OG, don’t know the status of his injury situation. Roman is a good WR. But there are better at each position - if those better players are on the board, I’m trusting Jim won’t be a fucking goober homer and he will take the best player available.

Another poster was looking for a good pulling OG in round 4...and Zinter IS projected by at least this website to go in round 4...so the slotting is about right...plus, Zinter is familiar with the type of offense Harbo likes to run...those are some reasons, but of course, if the Bolts are looking for an OG in rounds 3-5 or so, and they have someone else rated higher than Zinter, then I'm sure they go with the higher rated player...no more Pip-like projects, please...

If that's a concern I wouldn't draft him at all. The only way you take him is if you have complete faith in the medical reports coming back that he's at no more risk than anyone else. He's a first-round talent, so if he's cleared by the top doctors, he's worth the first-round pick.

Oh yeah, dude was just pointing out holes filled via FA, and holes left still.

I’m sooooooo curious about the upcoming TC, wanna see if any of our young guys step up.

I don't like that logic. It's a risk/reward and opportunity cost issue as with everyone else in the draft.

There's a huge reward available and there's some risk. I wouldn't spend all early first on him because the risk reward balance isn't equal to the other guys we have the opportunity to draft there.

The formula for figuring out where to draft him is probably pretty easy to figure out - (expected wins added over the rookie contract) x (the expected chance that player reaches that potential.)

Latu has a high expected wins added but a lower chance of reaching it than someone else of his pedigree, but even a 10% chance of reaching that is still going to be higher than a lot of lower round picks.

I don't know what you're talking about. If you think there's a risk with his neck, don't draft him at all. He shouldn't be playing football. If there isn't any more risk with him than the rest of the prospects, he's an outstanding player more than worthy of the 23rd overall pick.

yesss!.... it was obvious that staley had no clue that coaching NFL players was not the same as coaching kindergartners..... he is the worst or close to worst HC's we have ever had.....

Everyone has health risks playing football.

"I mean more risk than any other player"

What if the doctors say it's 1% more likely he'll be hurt too much to play? You wouldn't draft him? What about a 20% or 50% chance? There has to be a number on that spectrum where you would feel comfortable with him playing football.

Risk isn't a binary thing. It's not whether or not there is risk, is how big a risk there is. There is a level where he shouldn't play football. But below that level of risk there is a level of risk between where his skill dictates and his injury allows.

There are a lot of good players worthy of the 23rd pick. I'd prefer to pick one of them if there's a decent injury risk but not enough that he shouldn't play.

I'd love to win the lottery. It's worthy of a $2 investment sometimes because I'm not going to do anything else great with $2. If tickets were $100 I wouldn't buy tickets, despite winning the lottery being worth $100 because I'd rather spend it on something else.

Yep...there were a lot of red flags, first from the players, later from the media. When some of the bolder reporters started questioning Staley about his complex Pattern Match scheme, and that it wasn't working, Staley reacted like a snapping turtle getting poked in the nose...
