if it was still team Tommy John, think it would be Bowers, no questions asked, and mostly coz they whiffed on Kincaid/LaPorta and would def need to fill that TE slot, and....

wondering if Harbaugh prefers linemen before pass catchers/DBs ?? and does he lean Oline or Dline ??

I am not trading out of the top 10 for sure and really 8 seems fine with me.

Plus the Chargers need a lot. If they stay at 5 and get Bowers or even Nabers or Alt - thats fine. But depending on what happens that day, they shuold be prepared.
8 is the sweet spot as of right now.

Come Day 1 of the draft the dynamics can change quickly. A string of QBs, a GM reaching big time, and the FACT that 50% (maybe higher) of top 5 picks are busts. Suddenly that trade down to #8 don't look too shabby.

      Look at the 2021 draft.
String of QBs at 1,2,3 Lawrence(Hit), Zach Wiilson (Bust), Trey Lance (Bust). Kyle Pitts at #4 (6Tds in 3 seasons....Bust). Chase is a hit at #5.

Waddle, Sewell were next.... Micah Parsons#12

I am just hopeful of a GM and HC combo with a vision of how to build a roster. No more small school players - get some guys that actually produced on teh field

I think the Titans might be going OT as their OL was terrible last year. Granted, nothing is a given. But if the rest of the WRs like Coleman, Nabers, Odunze are pretty close in value -- its a good risk to take if you can totally get some team to overpay for 3 draft slots

I love Bowers - maybe my favorite player in the draft. But if you can get two other players to have 6 picks in the top 110ish range - -has to be considered.
There's a very real chance Bowers is still there picks 8-11.. Nabers, Fashanu, Alt, Latu, Turner, and Odunze are all very worthy of Top 10 picks and all can fill needs for the teams picking in that range, while TE isn't a huge need for any of them.

Trading from 5 to 8 and still getting Bowers would be a dream scenario

That would be great. Just wondr if Tennessee might nab him. They probably dont go QB if they really like Levis. Hard to say where they go.

They have Okonkwo (sp) at TE. Titans OL was very porous - one of the worst in the league. Doesn't mean they go LT - but the OL does need more work to be sure. I would be more concerned about the Giants as though they have Waller, they still might think Bowers. Granted, they probably could use TE too as well as WR.

Atlanta who needs a QB currently at #8 is the perfect match for us to trade down. Titans and Giants need a lot of help in different positions other than TE.
Unfortunately QB position after the top two doesn't look so hot. They'll be reaching a bit.

We could trade down twice and still get good players at #14-18...keep collecting 2nd rounders...

I'd bet the Titans would go OT and the Giants would go WR. Even after that, the Bears at 9 have Kmet, the Jets probably go OT (whoever is left between Alt/Fashanu), and the Vikings have Hockenson.

If you told me now the Chargers could from 5 to 8 - still get Bowers and also pick up say a 2024 2/4 in the process or a 2024 3/4 and 2025 3rd - I would be very good with that.

I am not sure I want to go much lower than 8. Granted, if Bowers were gone at 8 -- than I might still be open for business

I was really hoping Penix would have another strong showing in the championship game for that exact reason. Unfortunately he had the exact opposite. Just need to hope he has a really strong combine/workout season. It does seem like every year QB's tend to end up higher on mock drafts in March/April than they do in January. So I do have some hope that more interest builds leading up to the draft.
