Good point. I have mentioned that if the other projected WRs are close in talent to Nabers like Odunze and the FSU player (Keon Coleman?) maybe that is how you leverage a trade back for more picks. My guess, there are more good WRs in the draft than TEs. Meaning the drop off from MHJr to Nabers to Odunze might not be as much as Bowers to TE2 to TE3.

If you stay at 5 - you get top flight talent thats for sure. For me, thats Bowers. But trading back presents interesting options and you bring up how tehre can be depth at WR throughout the draft. Which is why some advocated for Tommy Boy to trade back this past year from 21 to get the depth at both WR and TE in Rounds 2 and 3.

Last I saw, Dru Tranquill should get the Chargers- (drum roll please) - a 7th round pick. What I saw was pick 255. Better than nothing.

I don't know how it works out - I thought it was based purely on contracts signed;

and Tranquil signed a 1 year prove it contract because he had the misfortune of playing on Staley's D, and looking confused doing so.

The guy wins the grand master NFL chess contest, and yet he was too stupid to figure out what Staley wanted him to do from play to play.

Argument could be made that you can find OTs, DEs. and CBs in later rounds as well. At #5 they need to take the best player that will help the team no matter what the position is and not look back. It's just a matter of opinion on who we think that pick should be.

Telesco brought in some speed, and then it got neutered and castrated.

They can sign a goat to be the next head coach, and he'll be an improvement.

My guess the drop off from Bowers to TE2 is greater than the dropoff from MHJr to WR4 = if the top WRs are MHJr, Odunze, Nabers and Coleman

So if Bowers is close in grade to Nabers but the there are other WRs ahead of TE2 - maybe its best to go Bowers at 5 - if staying at 5 and find WR later
