the other thing bowers has is that cat like reflex and spatial awareness plus balance to contort and adjust to ball in the air and the soft yet strong hands to snag the ball out of the air and secure it before a defender can make a play on it, you can't watch Bowers video and not notice that playmaking ability that is difficult to quantify...

well, taken out of context like that, that could make me sound like a total POS, like I was saying something inappropriate, which I wasn't...my point was that not everyone is born with the same types of muscles, even among athletes there are still some people that stand out as having stronger bones and higher concentrations of quick twitch type muscles that produce more power and contract at much higher speeds...I'm no scientist but it has to do with "different distributions of myosin heavy chain (MHC) isoforms in muscles" sometimes referred to as higher muscle density even though the muscle itself can be the same size the more "dense" muscles might have more and shorter individual cells building up each individual strand rather than a lower number of longer cells that take longer to contract because they are longer...

If they can trade back to 8, I think there will still be a possibility of Odunze or Bowers. Also some good OTs if that’s the way they go. I think it would be a waste of a pick if it was OT. I think they will resurrect to Oline with who they got. I think they draft some depth to eventually replace Pip and even challenge him this year.

Seems to be some chatter about CB Arnold as well. Not really interested in any of the CBs in the top 10.

this is what I think too, too many holes to fill to think about OT early...about the CBs early, I'm thinking trading down a couple of times maybe into the 11-15 range to draft one of the top CBs...after that you address center and IDL in the second and 3rd rounds...

Does he maintain speed out of his cuts? That’s what really impressed me about Nabers, open every play.

Here is the NFL draft slot salaries for every round but with particular interest for #5 to #8

If we trade back with ATL to #8, get a pick or two, we also save 10 mil on Bowers entire contract. Id call that better value and well worth it.

Good find and good point. My guess at 11 - Bowers even as more value in terms of contract for the TE

I’d be good with trading back a couple times to get more picks. You’ll have one of the top CBs there and I also think JPJ is going to keep climbing the boards through the process. With C being the top need, I’d probably be ok with that pick around 15. In doing that, you get the #1 C in the draft and a good amount of picks in the middle rounds where there is going to be a ton of value this year. I did hear a snippet that JPJ has some kind of injury. It didn’t slow him down at the Senior Bowl. If that is cleared and have no worries about, I’d be good with JPJ at 15.

They might get some push back with that pick, but so did the Lions last year when they took Gibbs and Campbell in the 1st. Look at what those two did last year for the Lions.

No matter what, I trust what Hortiz and Harbaugh are going to do.

I've gotten comfortable with trading back, but I can't get there with trading down to take JPJ in the middle of the first. At some point positional value becomes a red line that you don't cross IMO. We badly needly a center because we do not have one at the moment, but I disagree its the top need. From the perspective of what this team needs to get to a contending level, I think CB is bigger need. We're really weak there as well and Minter's scheme demands good, physical CB play. I think a legit #1 option for Herbert is a bigger need. Keenan's still great but he's 31, from here on out we'll just have to see how he looks physically every Week 1. I like Palmer but he's not a #1 and I'm not sure I want to pay him next offseason.

We need a center, we don't need the best center in the first round. I expect they'll sign a vet in free agency that could be a low-end starter in the event they completely strike out in the draft.

But ultimately yes, I trust Hortiz and Harbaugh.
