What I saw today was this...

    Graham Barton.

    Drafted Round 1 Pick 26.
    LT @ Duke.
    Vital addition to augment Wirfs/Goedeke.

It is easy to transpose this example to our circumstances.

In the '25 Draft there actually are numerous tough, talented offensive linemen we need to look at, to find our anchor, signal calling Center.

What I would also say is that QB mobility is big, whether it is Baker Mayfield, or Bo Nix, or lack of mobility, currently, with Justin Herbert.

There were chances to keep pace with TB today, and we failed, not because of GRo, but because of Herbert's lack of mobility and resulting inaccuracy.
    We play modern Harball.

Just curious, but are you suggest drafting a LT in rnd 1 to move to OG, center, or back up OT?
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

Will Campbell may be the best Center in this draft.

          CENTER: IAPANI LALOULU, OREGON DUCKS

Continuing the tradition of excellent Oregon offensive linemen will be Iapani Laloulu. As is the Ducks’ tradition, they initiated him last season in a part-time role across all three interior positions. He earned a 79.1 pass-blocking grade and allowed just two pressures across 232 reps. Laloulu is now entrenched at center, replacing Jackson Powers-Johnson. His protection abilities will be a huge asset for Dillon Gabriel and the rest of the Ducks’ offense.

          2026
ED Matayo Uiagalelei, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
ED Malcom Koonce, LB Isaiah Simmons, TE Cade Otton, RB Kyren Williams, QB Gardner Minshew, TE Jelani Woods, P Matt Araiza

Will Campbell OT @ LSU? if that is the same he is one of the top 3 OTs in the draft. I don't think he will fall to the Chargers. If he did fall to us and they think he can play center, then I'm all for it but I they better know for sure that he can make that transition taking with their 1st rnd pick.

I want something like that. I know thats a big ask considering those players....but i want to make it easier for Justin. Like those guys did for Rivers. He was way more efficient the less he threw the ball. We probably have 100M to sink in the trenches and keep the guys that auditioned well on D. Pick up a solid OC and OG. Bosa cut.

Yes, those first 2 players I'd love. A 1-2 punch @RB in this Roman offense.
In the 3rd, I'd start looking @edge rusher. We looked very bad today against the Bucs.
Joey is probably gone (cap) and Khalil started showing his age. Tuli and Bud were kind of non-consequential today.
Have to pressure the QB to protect the secondary.
Minter uses disguise and confusion. But if you don't pressure the QB... time is a killer to his secondary.

              Run the ball

Jake Majors Center Texas - A native of Prosper, Texas, emerged as a stalwart on the offensive line for the Texas Longhorns. A four-star recruit out of Prosper High School, Majors quickly made his mark in Austin, playing in three games as a true freshman in 2020. He started 12 games at center in 2021 and solidified his position as the anchor of the Longhorns' offensive line over the next two seasons.

Majors' tenure at Texas was marked by consistent performance and accolades. He earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors in 2023 and was a Joe Moore Award semifinalist. His blocking prowess was instrumental in the success of Texas' offensive stars, including Doak Walker Award winner Bijan Robinson and Davey O'Brien Award semifinalist Quinn Ewers. Majors was part of an offensive line that paved the way for multiple 1,000-yard rushers and record-setting offensive performances.

Throughout his college career, Majors demonstrated durability and reliability, starting 39 consecutive games from 2021 to 2023. His leadership and consistency were crucial factors in Texas' offensive success, including the team's run to the College Football Playoff in 2023.

I have opened the door for others to find our all important Center, which will be no small task.

Also, Slater is unsigned, and Alt is an OLT, with obvious cap implications across the spectrum.

Meanwhile we might just transform our entire offense with a Graham Barton type move.

                  GRo's back, friends.

Has he ever played center? Just because it worked with Barton, doesn't mean it will work with every OT. Huge gamble IMO.
Is he BPA over TE or RB in the 1st? Seriously asking... I haven't scouted him.
Wouldn't it be prudent to sign the best OC in FA? James Daniels, maybe?

He may indeed be a better OG than OT, but he will be long gone by the time we draft so its moot.

Yes I would love the first 2 picks but i also see an edge rusher going early. For one thing EDGE is one of the strong positions in this draft.....Edge, RB, TE, DT are deeper positions

Yeah, no kidding. This draft was weak for Centers but now with some of the top JR Centers going back for their SR year it's worse. If Majors is there in the 3rd rnd I could see him being the pick, but he come with his own warts and don't know if he would start his rookie year. After that you are looking at an OT or OG to move but don't think you would want to look at a high draft pick for that kind of move. FAncy sucks for Centers as well so don't think you will find one there either.

Slater I think will be re-signed this offseason. The Chargers will have the cap space to do it. Him and Alt has been the only bright spot on the o-line this year.
