I hope you're right if they draft him. However in my experience with these drafts there is no such thing as "a resounding yes"! Other than players like Orlando Pace, and Faulk, and Randy Moss, Neon Sanders etc.

Zion disappointment aside, did the Eagles need to sign Becton ? No, but they did.

The NFL world is about to be reminded of THE CYCLES OF FOOTBALL.

Light box defenses will need to evolve.

Look for the Eagles vaunted running attack to dominate...KCs kryptonite.

BTW I did find and mock midround weapons.

I still prefer to get two OL in FA before the draft. And some OL to train later in the draft.

Then I can focus on best TE or ED (my preferences at this time) in the 1st. We can’t solve all our problems without both FA and the draft.

Herbie needs some weapons. And more protection.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
        Let’s win one for Mack.

IMV the way to dethrone the Chiefs is with something new and different, or something old and different.

          We need enough weapons.

We are helpless with this IOL.

what has to be added, though, is none of them built their IOL solely thru drafting first round IOL picks. Most of them also include a key FA signing at a critical time. The Eagles have such a key FA signing. (I’d leave the Steelers out of any example, they an example of quick embarrassing exits from the playoffs every year like clockwork)

One might point to Saquon Barkley as the most significant difference on the 2024 Eagles … did you watch the NFCCG? You hand that same ball on the same plays to Gus every time, you can erase 21 points off their scoreboard. He probably doesn’t even get a first down on Barkley’s long scoring TDs. Heck, if Gus tried to run it wide, he probably is dropped for a loss. Saquon is EXHIBIT A that the right explosive 4.4 RB can be the difference between a good running game and a game-changing soul-crushing opponent-obliterating running game. No defense is worried about cheating up into the box on Gus, he ain’t going far. Saquon - you cheat up and miss, you can wave goodbye.

We also don’t have an AJ Brown of Deonte Smith on the roster but I quibble. The notion that only an IOL upgrade will deliver a Lombo is a bit hyperbolic imo.

That said, i don’t see a Saquon on this year’s draft board at 22 (or are we 23?). I see some good RBs, but don’t know a Rd2 or Rd3 RB isn’t going to be functionally equivalent. But I also don’t see a can’t miss pro bowl OG, but you’re gonna convince me before April - I look forward to the lessons.
Man i wanted to fix the iOL last offseason. It was terrible and i said that multiple times. If we were keeping Pipkins anyways to start, leave him at RT. He was worse at RG.

Im happy to have Alt but Bowers, we would have for a decade or more and be a multiple All Pro. I know Alt will be an all pro mulitple times as well but TE would be solved. Last offseason had some good OGs and OCs. Sorry, i think we fucked up a little on this one.

I am pleasantly surprised at BBs durability.

how do you know they didnt need to sign Becton? key word = SIGN. Why are you against spending money on our OL. Fun 2024 Cap Facts:

                Eagles
                $15.9M + $11.6M + $6.0M + $2M + $1.3M + 1.2M + $1M + $0.9M + $1.9M + $1M = $42.8M OL (goes up to $52M in 2025)

                LAC
                $6M + $1M + $5.3M + $1M + $8.7M + $4M + $1M + $1M + $0.5M = $28.5M OL (goes up to $39M without pipkins in 2025)
                - **$8.7M of that is Pipkins, who EVERYONE wants to cut

and if you think the Eagles spend alot on their OL, Andy called to say hold his beer. they are north of $66M in their OL

All of you trenchers should be forming pitchfork brigades to encircle The Bolt and demand that the Chargers to put their trench money where their trench mouths is, vs making wild ass bets on OT-OG conversions being instant pro bowlers. This theory that LAC cannot afford to sign top IOL FA is bullshit as all of the best teams that made it to division round, conference round, and now SB are actually doing it.

We can still draft a high IOL for you too - I have to keep reminding we need THREE new IOL players, not one. This is not an either-or situation,a multi-front battle plan is needed.

Or we can spend 2025 watching two IOL players vs 3 still unable to pick up a twist or stunt, and completely abandon their gap assignment play after play while DTs and LBs pound Justin into the dirt. We can cheers that we have one more good IOL blocker and we're getting closer to playing good football, but it will be a bitter beer imo.

Agree 100%. One weapon and a bad IOL puts a hard lid on this team’s upside. At the minimum, we need another consistent pass catcher and a quality C to move forward. And that’s hoping that a better C can improve or at least cover for barely adequate G play.

Yeah, how aggrevating is that! The Raiders are a pain in my ass. When the Chargers moved i was down and figured maybe ill just become a fan of whoever moves here to Vegas. Then its the Raiders.....plan aborted!

My top pick for us last year...is a Raider WTF!

how many more drafts do we go without selecting a TE ?? Kincaid, LaPorta, Bowers, Sinnott.... Loveland ?? and know it's all of a month out from the '024 stanza, and.... these days there is virtually no waiting as most of the name sites already have their big boards and some mock drafts up and running, QB RB Ollie Gordon,
